  • Exile Studio is the best place to record. They know loads about music, good gear, you dont get ripped off and you get free mixing.

  • captain toms
  • Captain Toms on Ann Street. Also, there's a little-known music room at the Aberdeen Foyer, on South College St, across from BT building.
  • The Lok-ups shut down. Best place forerecording is the Exile studio, one of the best studios in Scotland never mind aberdeen. And theyve got pinball machines and arcade machines. And its residential and they serve good food!
  • Captain Tom's studio is too expensive for what it offers, and the engineer has no expierience.Musical Vision, and Fluxus, two other crap studios where you pay through the nose for crap facilities
  • Captain Toms is excellent
  • captain tom's...
  • For Pa hire try Taylored Sound . Great engineers and the only local company with touring spec box's.
  • Foyer Music is the place to go if you are not old! It's ace and do great sounding recordings. It's supposed to be for anyone under 25 but everyone who uses it is still at school! The gear ws upgraded a while ago and they have a 24-track now. It's also madly cheap, only £14 an hour for recording or £8 an hour for practicing. Loads of support from the staff too, and they even oput on gigs and run workshops. Check it out at www.foyerlive.com
  • people i know recomend captain toms, maybe a bit too expensive?
  • Captain toms.
  • Capt Toms - super for a practise room, but quite pricey. Don't record there, it always sounds terrible, it's basic, basic, basic. The Foyer - as above, great for a practise space, and affordable, but the recording facilities are awful, you'll end up with a CD that sounds as though you just laid a tape recorder in the middle of the floor while you were practising. If you've got the money, push the boat out and go to the Mill, it's really expensive, but you'll end up with a demo that sounds as good as anything you can buy in the shops. Fantastic quality. The Lok-Up - great affordable practise space. And they got a pool table too!
  • captain tom's- amazingly expensive crap amps that are past it. go somewhere else or find your own rehearsal space. heard bad things bout fluxus too.
  • Captain Toms is the place to be.
  • Captain Toms are good for rehersal and there recording is of a high standard but they will cost a bit-rehersal:£14 an hour recording:£22 an hour If your under 25 then check out the Foyer its not as good as captain toms but there cheaper and can get you a gig easily enough. They charge £8 for rehersal and £14 for recording but its not as great
  • Captain Toms, very flexible and not all pretentious. Good mixture of people use them (ie not just 12 year old goths and students)
  • Atmosphere lighting and sound (Mounthooly, Aberdeen) are about the only one stop dj hire shop
  • The Lock Up. My friends jam there quite a lot.
  • Captain Tom's beside the bastille
  • Forget Captain Tom's. My advice is just get a four tracker and mix your own tunes until you can get signed by some mingin weegie label for your first 2000 sales. Captain Tom cant mix a bowl of bisto.
