  • HMV must be the rudest customer's not-welcome shop in Aberdeen. If you buy a CD it gets slammed with force down on the counter. I asked another member of staff if the CD could be damaged and was told, "WE ONLY SELL CD'S". And if you can't find the music artist your looking for they will sigh and look at their watch even though they've been standing doing nothing for twenty minutes, the guy pretended not to see the album I was after on the computer and told me to, "go home and buy it on the internet"!
  • one up
  • 1up is still at the top of the list. Fopp recently shut down because the manager screwed up the accounts. Check 1up before going to HMV or Virgin: usually this'll save you some cash.
  • one up is shite and smells very strange
  • one up still is the best for all your musical needs, plus there hairdye range is good now, especially since presents has closed, fopp a close second. plus the staff in fopp are uber nice, and will chat away to ya about your purchases
  • one up on belmont street is good, good prices, second hand stuff, clothes and loads of ads for young bands wich is good.
  • One up is good and cheap
  • 1 Up on Belmont street - great selection, great people, great recommendations, fantastic selection of Vinyl and Pixie (works upstairs) has to be seen to be believed. WOW!
  • fop, used to be on mccombies court and now moved to union street at the opening to belmont street.
  • Fopp for cheapness, One-Up for finding that obscure record that you can't get hold of anywhere else.
  • The Cavern on Belmont Street is the place to go. The guys there really know their stuff and can get you just about anything you want.
  • 7 up in Belmont Street - great selection of 2nd hand stuff good prices and they always have good music on while you shop.
  • Fopp, best music shop ever and the huge hMV in the Trinity
  • correction records been going here since the owner left "fopp" friendly place full of like minded people but he needs to stock more dutch style tunes and ban neds :-)
  • One up and fopp are the best, cheap cds and a good selection of music
  • Virgin and HMV both on Union St., though there found everywhere my ultimate fav. stores are Fopp on Union Street and just round the corner from that is another good record shop which i cant put the name on it but its next door to Kef!
  • ONE UP N FOPPS!!!!!
  • 1UP BELMONT STREET
  • Fopp, where you can buy all those CDs that you didn't know you wanted til you saw they were only a fiver. Have great stock that changes frequently, meaning you can see one band's entire back catalogue reduced one day and then a whole wall of CDs devoted to a theme the next.
  • One up is THE best, cos u can always find out wot is goin on and also find sum rather decently priced second hand cds! Fopp - under boarderline opposite markie's food hall - is v good cos they hav a massive selection of books n cds n stuff and its really well priced
  • one up is excellent for choice but also advertise just about every event in the clubs in aberdeen correction records (Back Wynd, Aberdeen) is pretty good too Fopp puts them both to shame
  • I know its sort of a chain, but Fopp opposite M&S is cheap, has a great selection and on the odd occasion really random books and dvds for a bargain. One-Up on Belmont Street(also another nice street during daylight) has everything and cheaper than chain stores.
  • One up on belmont street - sometimes smells of piss but they sell cheap and also do tickets to gigs. Beats HMV anyday.
  • Retro blue - the guy is soooo nice and helpful and will order anything for you, cheap too. Fop - great selection, good deals, lots of unusual stuff, also good for quirky books on music and dvds one up - nice friendly, staff that care about music, pretty cheap.
  • Fopp they are pretty cheap, One Up which is on the best street ever, Belmont. The homeless people are so lucky, they live on belmont street.
  • Fopp is THE place to buy your cd's and now luckily sell cheap DVD's too...although all the box set's are overpriced and can be picked up cheaper in HMV, WH Smith etc
  • The Cavern for 2 nd vinyl and new vinyl as well - run by Mike and Jim and James. All obsessed by music from the 50s onwards. They claim to have 20,000 records in their warehouse. They are opening a new shop soon under Union Street. One Up is damn good as well - 2 nd hand CDs worth a look - they have some decent vonyl as well.
  • FOPP and oneUP are the best music shop althought they don't sell singles they have cheap albums and aren't run by evil big companies.
  • One Up - Good for just about everything musicwise including the obscure. Disorganised but wide ranging vinyl department. Correction Records - Aberdeen's best for house music - A few other styles Fopp - Good for cheap CDs and books.
  • One up records on belmont street are okay for a second hand cds. Fopp records beside marks and sparks on st. nicholas square has better bargains most of the time though not for recent commercial pop.
  • gramite reef and boarderline.
  • one up is the best store in town!
  • One Up brilliant for cheap CD's The Cavern is the best place i've ever been for vinyl it's cheap and the guy really knows his stuff plus if you go in often enough you get freebies and discounts
  • ONE UP!!!!
  • One up. Great selection of records and vynll and 2nd hand stuff
  • The Cavern is a bit of a dive, but the guy knows his stuff - great second hand jazz and such like
  • Apart from the usual shite places like Virgins and HIV best places are FOPP and ONE-UP although if you like your idge idge techno music try the place behind GAP
  • 1-UP on Belmont Street has a good second-hand section downstairs
  • FOPP ON MCROMBIES LANE...... ALL ALBUMS IN TOP40 ONLY 9.99
  • One Up or Fopp are the best in the whole of Aberdenn
  • Oneup and Fopp are the best for cheap cds and records..Oneup downstairs has loadsa vinyl and 2nd hand cds
  • The Cavern on Belmont - Vynil and memorabelia and the owner Mike's a great guy, really friendly and a wealth of boundless info, always up for a conversation on every type of music ever inflicted upon our wrecked little Earth whether he knows anything on it or not.
  • Fopp, good, cheap and decent retailer. Also one up is good.
  • One Up on Belmont street,
  • Fopp and ONe up records are pretty cheap - However Sainsburys at Garthdee is the cheapest around!!!
  • one up this place could actually be listed as a hook-up spot as it is on belmont street. Sells a variety of kerrang style music and yes it has poppy stuff too, it's got psters, hoodies and all that other stuff too. Fopp i don't know the street beside Christies 99p store, it's got most stuff, and you'll usually find it at a cheaper price than Virgin etc.
  • Correction records only half decent place to get a hold of any decent dance tunes
  • Fopp used to be good, but has turned commercial, and they never change their sale CDs, Virgin, HMV and Our Price are absolute cons, the place to go is One-Up on Belmont Street, where you can find all the mainstream stuff, underground punk and hardcore, shitey dance records, and second hand CDs and videos, and also T0shirts and hoodies, all at a reasonable price, most of the counter assistants are a a good laugh too.
  • One Up Records or Fopp are the best to get any album at least £3 cheaper than HMV or VIRGIN..... However HMV is worth going into just to eye up the Spanish Security Gaurd. He doesnt trust anyone but his looks are to die for! Also lots of nice young men work there..... Virgin's employees are either old rockers or goths
  • Someone told me Asda in dyce, has an underground stall run by gipsys that sell pirated music for 1/4 the price! Uncle Jamals shop, go to Noose and monkey, ask for him there!
  • OneUp on Belmost streets offers most music and if you present anything from a proper student card to a school bus pass you can get 10% off everything.
  • Fopp for cheap cd's, all the things you were going to get round to buying but never quite did. 1UP for a wider range of things.
  • fopp & 1up are the best in aberdeen for all types of music
  • HMV - Cute guy with major side burns and shaven head with pierced ear - u will know the one as soon as you go in, the security gaurd (spanish i think) he doesnt trust anyone but hes soooo sexy. THey guy in teh video section with reallly long hair is such a nice bloke- cute!!!
  • HMV - Hot Guy works there the security Gaurd yummy
  • Got to be Fopp, doon e back on Markies, One Up used to be good, but its turned affa expensive
  • One up and Fopp are the best record shops in town, though Fopp has went down in my estimation recently, due to its decision to no longer stock singles. One up has a fine selection of archived alternative stuff and a decent section, albeit small,of clothing.Second hand stuff too.
  • Buy online, you obviously have the means if you're reading this, Aberdeen is shite for records unless it's S CLub 7, Robbie Williams and Steps you after.
  • Fopp is good. The rest are spagboll.
  • One up is good but has lost alot of what it once had.
  • One Up is the best, and it's not a chain store. Likewise that place in George Street, umm Blue something or other. What's the point is commenting on Virgin or HMV, they're all the same in every city.
  • Fopp is number one, nice and cheap. One Up used to be great but it has gone very much downhill. Our Price, Virgin, HMV: Fucking rip-off.
  • one up is good but not as fucken good as everyone says, yes it is cheap but not that cheap and in some cases is more expensive. wot is good about it is the under a tenner section and the large second hand department. fopp is also very good with most new realeases selling for only a tenner
  • 2 really cool places "one-up" next to Glow (Belmont St) Fopp next to Markey's near St Nick
  • One up. The Number One in Aberdeen. Visit it know
  • that place outsde marks and spencer, the back door. and the HMV in the middle of union street beside that book shop i can'yt remember it's name.
  • Okay, we have plenty of bog standard chain stores selling over priced CD's, but the place to head to is 'One Up' in Belmont Street they do an excellent line in CD's, Second Hand, Vinyl and even a few T shirts. 'Fopp' in the lane opposite Markies also have a brilliant cheap selection.
  • There's virgin and Hmv on union street. Say no more
  • one up - belmont st
  • Fopp Records sell the so-called underground music and staff who work there know the products. It is within 50 metres of M & S but you may have to ask a young person the exact directions.
  • Hmv,virgin, fopp, oneup fopp is cheapest great bargains
  • Fopps Records, near M&S is at least one shop that specialises in underground music.
