  • What ever happened to 'Harold the tramp?' Well he wasn't really a tramp but he lived a lonely and strange existence in the 1970's. I remember that he used to sleep in an old shed by the cattle market and sometimes help out there. He was a strange man and to me he seemed old even though I think those days he was no more than around 50. The local boys used to tease him unmercifully but he often got his revenge when he caught one of them!. One of his most famous sayings used to be "Go on you bugger" said of course in a Welsh accent. He spent a lot of time around the Peel street bus shelter or else walking the streets and no one got in his way. O well I suppose he has gone the way of other famous Abergele residents such as "Eric the relic" and "Tudor". Happy days?.
