  • Abegele Next Time is a song by the 80's band The Pale Fountains
  • Has anyone seen Prince Valiant that was filmed at Gwrych Castle? the lovely Katherine Heigl (Roswell High) was in it! shame i never got 2 meet her... right outside my house too it was.
  • all in all abergele is shit
  • Someones forgotton, Prince Charles nearly got blown up in 1969 on his way to becoming prince in Caernarfon! blew themselves up, silly welsh rebels.
  • drink in the bee or harp
  • moooo at wooooo
  • I have been born and bred in Pensarn. There is a lovly side to Pensarn, like the Park PUB which always has a queue of people wanting great food. Barry's Of Pensarn is a large store that sells everything from pet food to DIY. It sells loads of things that noone else can get hold of, like french swans. There is Robs Chippy and a local convience store. I LOVE PENSARN THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Just to point out the Abergele Visitor newspaper is still very much alive. The office in Abergele has been closed for financial and lack-of-support reasons, but the paper is still produced weekly. The paper gives excellent coverage of Abergele Rugby and Cricket teams and still features plenty of Abergele news, covering all the critical issues affecting the town.
  • abergele is to change! tesco, windfarm, science park, mental home, hesketh revamp, maybe itll be put on the map and not have to play sixth fiddle to rhyl, prestatyn, colwyn bay llandudno and conwy anymore!
  • for every child theres 5 pennies and the rest!
  • for every child theres 5 pennies and the rest!
  • the town is shit!
  • the town is shit!
  • The Rugby Club is probably the best social junior side in North Wales - new members are always welcome - Training is at Pentre Mawr park every Weds at 1830
  • In Abergele lives Jam who is a member of a famous becoming band! In other words he will be famous in a few years (Hopefully). unfortunally I don't remember the band name....but I will let you know!!!!
  • If you're a bloke, try and get into the Rugby team. Nothing better than singing Calon Lan in the George! There are loads of rather fine young ladies in the Gele. Without naming names try McDonalds and Diskos!
  • If you go down to the beach tonite, your sure of a big surprise.....
  • I thimk Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan should be mentioned as one of the best up and coming schools in the area, with all its new buildings and the oportunities it offers students with the wide choice of courses - where is Ysgol Glan Morfra ?
  • Abergele recently got on the front page of the news of the world because a budding entrepeneur opened a child brothel in the town. Apparently it closed down soon after the reveletaion was made to everyone in the U.K.
  • Worst thing - The town is tiny. Blink and you'd miss it. Best thing - Erm?!
  • Worth coming off the motorway to spend a little time in this town... but more than the town itself, the hills to the south are extremely pretty and the narrow roads through them should be explored. There is a fantastic market in the town every Sunday. People come long distances to take advantage of the bargains! Restaurants not so good. Up in the hills nearby, there are several places where you can get very good, inexpensive 'pub' lunches.
  • The Bull Pub, (Allan Yates, Propietor) Chapel Street, Abergele Wales, has a plaque commemorating its contributions to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Recruits to the faith ( a long time ago) went for training to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they continued with their well-known love of choirs and song. From this humble beginning was begat the present-day choir. The Bull rates a quick stop from passing Mormons who wish to see the plaque. It is unknown whether they actually stop for a pint of anything.
  • Check out the Church in Betws yn Rhos
  • Scary Place - totally illegal, but a trip up to Gwrych Castell (a castle) at night can be exciting, it's very spooky.
  • Beach- two functions, during the day its pleasent enough, prom, arcades, and two decent cafes. At night its where lovers go to work up a sweat and has a cottage (public toilet where many gay men meet).
  • Leisure Centre - next door to the High School on Faenol Avenue, small but nice pool and other amenities including Fitness Suite, Gymnasium, and a Bar.
  • Abergele has finally made itself into the national news after gay murderer Peter Moore killed one of his four victims on Pensarn beach which is a five minute walk from Abergele town centre. The beach is now an even more notorious haunt for gays than before.
  • Pensarn itself is where the majority of the ex-patients of the Mental Hospital in Denbigh now reside since its closure (care in the community). Add a couple of hundred drug addicts to the equation and you can see why the residents of Abergele want to have a high perimeter wall built around Pensarn so no one can escape.
  • Gwrych Castle was once a popular tourist attraction with regular medieval jousting tournaments (complete with full costumes, horses etc.) taking place. The owner of the castle is an American who is languishing in prison. It has recently been used as a set for a Hollywood film starring Edward Fox (I'll find the name) and since then has been squatted by New Age Travellers, who themselves have been in the news for being arrested after the killing a woman in a hit'n'run accident.
  • Since October 1996 there has been a traveller's site at Gwrych Castle. They're a big bunch of friendly travellers, mainly made up of families and visitors are welcome. I've lived there for five months now and its helping me get my qualifications at college. So don't believe anyone if they say travellers are drop outs!
  • Abergele was the scene of a failed assasination attempt of Prince Charles in 1969 as he travelled back from Caernarfon after being crowned. Two members of the Welsh Nationalist group Meibion Glyndwr were killed when their home-made bomb detonated accidentally. Until recently there was an annual 'Martyr's March' through the town where fellow Meibion Glyndwr members commemorated the deaths. However, This has now been banned on account of interest by the National Front and Sinn Fein members wishing to join the procession.
  • the film made at Gwrych Castle starring Edward Fox was..... Prince Valiant (my friend Damian Izzard was in it- he was the one releasing a pigeon!)
