Local Bands in Alcester, Warwickshire*

Yet to make it big but definitely worth a listen

You can tell us more about Alcester.

Local Bands
  • Fighting Shadows were formed in 2008 when singer/songwriters Adam Woollacott & Jon Hudson both wanted to start a new project. They started with writing some original material but thought it sounded a bit empty so in December 2009, Jake Smith (drummer) joined to give the band a much fuller sound and Matt Williams joined on bass in April 2010. The band are now building up quite a fan base in the South Warwickshire and Worcestershire areas and are regularly gigging. Fighting Shadows play their own blend of original driving acoustic based rock and contemporary covers. Make sure you catch them if they're playing locally to you!
  • Kathleen Turner Overdrive ... they produce a tight, confident sound with enough energy to light up Warwickshire for a week! Their somewhat offbeat repertoire, shunning many of the usual selections, sees them shift effortlessly from 60s pop to more contemporary numbers from the Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol and Coventry's The Enemy. To hear these renditions back to back, it's hard to believe that some of these songs are separated by over four decades. But this is what this band is all about. There's no slavish copying here. With these exciting interpretations, KTO make the songs their own, and really knock the socks off the audience. Catch them if you can.
  • notorious brothers, parker, the racketts, kathleen turner overdrive, texan peacocks all excellent local bands.
