Arts, crafts and such
- There is this majorly cute shop called Stamparty in the Arcade. Amazing arty stuff. It rocks! Erm, well I think they may sell art in the market on Thursdays? Or on one of the stalls in the Welly centre, or on Union St. Other than that, your best bet's the Tate in London! I personally know a brilliant artist called Valerie Cookson- if you are interested in viewing some of her work, please email me on methi_chicken@hotmail.com and I can put you in touch with her.
- some interesting art in the Ash manor sponsored under pass between alsershot and ash. Pretty go the bit about 'This is Daddy and you in the C when you get home'!!
- There's fine displays of "pavement art" on Saturday and Sunday mornings - watch the light filter through prisms of broken glass, marvel at the technicolor splendour of beer vomit and swoon at the random splashes of blood that would make Jackson Pollocks proud.
- WEC again. Some great exhibitions and always some kinda course you can go on from comedy writing to jewelery making. The art of pisstaking not included
- Any of the Military libraries or museums-preety interesting.
- Dont stay in business long enough
- trademark is really all i can think of.
- Try the west end centre again, every now and again theyll hold stuff to do with art and stuff
- not into it my self
- smitcraft, eastern road is the best place for art and craft stuff.
- Wellington Wools is no more. It has gone to the great sheep pen in the sky
- Trademark opposite the Galleries car park is well worth a visit. It has everything a hippy/clubber/phreak could want....
- Brilliant wool shop in Aldershot town centre - Wellington Wools.
Also one in Ash - Wool 'N Things - even does lots of crochet stuff and is well worth
a look.
Try Smit Crafts down North Lane (North Town in Aldershot) - they do everything
you can possibly imagine - from match kits to painting by numbers or plaster of
paris model kits.
Check out huge garden centre down Lower Farnham Road - Badshot Lea
Garden Centre. Also one in Fleet and another good one the other side of
Camberley, Nottcuts.
- The Albany Dance Club, held at Connaught Leisure Centre, is a great place for kids to learn modern dance styles in a fun and informal environment for reasonable rates.
