The Best Things in Aldershot, Hampshire*

If you're around, be sure to check these things out

You can tell us more about Aldershot.

The Best Things
  • Nothing
  • The sports parks, and the army facilities are very good in my opinion. Also the two competing all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants pizza hut and Am's.
  • aldershot town fc hooligans
  • the best thing nout aldershot is the lido
  • The station- it's how you escape!! Actually, Aldershot Park isn't bad, and neither is Aldershot Leisure Centre. Some of the cafes in the town are quite good too! And some houses! But the best thing has to be the locals who have lived there forever- no-one tells a story like them! Especially Peter Harrison.
  • yates, cheeks, fit blokes who always want it, burger king
  • The remaining bastian of Aldershots real reason for being there anyway, the pubs, that provide watering holes and loose women for the troops, most of these have gone now sadly, and those that remain are full of civilian clowns.
  • The pond in manor park
  • THE FUNKY END. THE ONLY PLACE POSSIBLY WORTH GOING TO
  • shopping/ down to earth people
  • Genuine people no pretences
  • The people of Aldershot, the Wellington Centre 2, Rowhill Copse.
  • The new website for Aldershot.....gives you all you need to know for shopping and events in the town centre. www.aldershot.towntalk.co.uk
  • Aldershot is the last town in the area to be besieged by 'Mockneys' and plastically materialistic shite-bags and thus retains a gritty charm.
  • The horizon. The proposed development to replace the health centre with homes, hotel, leisure facilities and a new car park.
  • The future. Plans to bring new leisure and retailing into Aldershot are welcome. The development of the new health centre has just got full planning permission, which means Westgate can really go ahead, which in turn will give us a great opportunity to attract some big named retailers on to the High Street. This is all 'jam tomorrow' it is happening.
  • Snakebite from the West End Centre and seeing great bands for a fraction of the London ticket prices.
  • A good range of things to do...Dry Slop Skiing, Go Karting, Bowling, Cinema.
  • WEC and having a laugh at some of the dodgy haircuts and outfits that float past on 47 inch heels pushing a couple of pushcahirs
  • Although I no longer live in Aldershot, MY dad was based there for 11 years and I lived there for 7 of them. Aldershot was a nice town and I have good memories of it, when the paras were there we always went to the airborne forces day. Recently I went there for the first time in 3 years and it was very different. Although the town was the same, exept a few new shops , it resembled a ghost town that isnt the Aldershot that I used to know and love.
  • Redevelopments in the town - Aldershot is on the up!
  • Old world charm. Victorian style houses. Thoroghly decent Aldershot locals
  • Some nice Victorian housing, a good park and ...the West End Centre and Funky End!
  • If ya in need of a quick leg over girls then aldershot is full of horny squaddies, most of which will fuck any thing with two legs and a hole!!!
  • We in Aldershot are all lovely ordinary people
  • Aldershot pools (lido) in summer. till they build more bloody houses.
  • Gigs at the westy, getting pissed up da sk8 park and the muzz.
  • West End Centre! Best venue for miles!!!!
  • the best things is the people thay are the town and I love my Aldershot the town that I and my father were born and he died ther too and what I go home people still know me and my dad and to mr that matter my home Aldershot Hant's
  • Good transport links, relatively cheap housing, not as intimidating as it's reputation suggests, (Friday and Saturday nights aside) .
  • Err...Err....no, can't think of any at the moment! Hang on..how about the road out?
  • The West End Centre (or "Westie") is wicked.
  • Hard to think of really
  • the skate park f*ckin rules!
  • Plenty of good places locally. Aldershot is central to Ash, Frimley, Fleet, Farnborough, Farnham, Guildford etc. Only 30 miles from London. Public transport isn't too bad. Not too many roughians. No longer known as a military town as the Paras have left us and there are very few squadies actually left now. The new tourist information centre down the High Street. Nice area for small kids - plenty of schools and nursery schools. Fair sized library in Aldershot and an even better one in Farnborough. 2 fairly good parks. Regular events on bonfire night etc and travelling fair and circus often come to Manor Park. Hardly any junkies on the street. Great cheapy shop in Aldershot (Wilkinson) - wouldn't be without it! Cheapy food shop in Farnham (Lidl) - 9p a tin for beans, etc. Generally a good place to live.
  • Aldershot Town F.C.
  • Once you get away from the squaddiephobes, the people are really nice. Bought my own house in 95 and have been always been made to feel welcome by all the neighbours. I woulnt want to stay anywhere else.
  • THE STRIP SHOW THAT APPEARS AT THE PRINCES HALL EVERY FEW MONTHS ...... LOTS OF HUNKY MEN WITH BIG WILLIES!!!
  • Near to Guildford, Woking and Farnham
  • Cheap to live there.
  • Three sex shops!!!
  • By far the best thing to do in Aldershot is to support the revamped football team. Have a pint in the Crimea beforehand (and a really strong cheese & onion roll!)
  • Aldershot Town FC, went bust, but was re-formed by fans and is making its way up and by next season will be one division below the conference. Go and watch them - judge for yourself, only £3 for students/oap/junior and £5 for adults. Has a great dedicated bunch of fans on the East Bank, maybe I'll see you there. Free after 3pm parking in the Wellington Centre.
  • The gardens around the town centre and Rowhills Nature Reserve
  • Getting old enough to be able to move away from the bigotted, drunken excuse of an army that lives there.
  • Loads of cheap parking
