Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- ders cheeks in the town centre but i heard its crap
- Hmm... There's the "wonderful" Cheeks. Really scabby, and if you're a squaddie or a prostitute, probably a prime hang-out. Speaking of which, there is also Tiffany's exotic dancing bar. Great. Not at all obvious with the glittering sign and the scary-looking pimp stood outside. Other than that, there's Yates' Wine Lodge, which has the occasional disco, but has not been that great since the fantastic Jane Harrison left. But if you want better, go to Guildford. Brilliant nighht-life there.
- cheeks, yates
- THE FUNKY END FOR EXCELLENT DJ'S - HIP-HOP, HOUSE, FUNK AND SOUL
- I would loke to comment about Cheeks in Aldershot, i have been going there for years and its a great club. Nowadays the Djs on all three nights are fantastic, its the best mix of music you will hear for miles around. It certainly is not a shit hole as someone else described as it has just had new carpets, lights and been painted. The staff are very friendly and the doorman are too. I have never seen any major trouble, just drunk people being asked to leave politely. Its open on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights for 9-2am and cost £3 before 11 and £6 after on fri/sat and £3 all night on thursday, what a bargain! Great club, well worth a visit.
- Cheeks - ok and always a laugh - every one in Aldershot says its crap but usually ends up there on a friday or saturday night. Come on, you know you do!
- Cheeks and Owls
- Cheeks or the Warehouse in nearby Fleet. Both regularily change their name after each scandal, be it drug deaths, fighting or rapes. Like any military town, there is a higher than average amount of assaults and drunken behaviour in the clubs.
- Owls club! The local cattle market as I remember it! Great if you liked that sort of thing.
- Cheeks - a great laugh on a Friday night - best upstairs with decent music.
- Cheeks and Owls
- Can't say I have experienced the delight of "cheeks" but I did wait outside for a friend one night and saw quite a few people bashed out of the fire doors (female and male)- not my scene as I go clubbing in London.
If you wish to experience a proper "underground" club - I guess the nearest are in Reading or "jags" in Ascot (for jazz heads).
- Cheeks, Club X, the Rhythm Station, the Palace - call it what you will. It's a shite hole.
- OWLS BAR & NIGHTCLUB in Aldershot has recently undergone a refurbishment and is also under new management, the club is small (holds 150) but it is big enough to provide a good range of customer care, drinks at stupid knockdown prices and the talent in there is a mix of friendly gay and straight guys and girls, a real cosmopolital mix of fun and friendly people, whether they be doorstaff, barstaff or customers, entry is free b4 10pm and £5 after 11pm, and the nicest thing about it is that they don't allow the usual pissed up squaddies in there...one of the safest places to have a night out! Give it a go!! you won't be dissapointed.
- Aldershot is basically just clubs, if you go in your sure to see the clubs, but there all thug drugie clubs
- from some of the reviews I have read on here about Cheeks I would like to say, That this is Aldershot, Hampshire and the Cheeks nightclub here is a dive.
OK, maybe a bit harsh, if your lagered up you can have a good night, but make sure you are very pissed. The place stinks of cheese (honestly - next time you go take a whiff) Dont go in the blokes toilets downstairs, after about 20mins of the doors opening there is at least an inch of urine all accros the floor.
Squaddies everywhere. The saturday night main DJ is pretty good, but the friday night one, I reckon my nan could do a better job at mixing.
Oh and lets not forget the fights but then again if you go anywhere drinking in Aldershot town centre any night its like Madison Square Gardens on fight night, just not as posh!
- Don't bother with any of them unless completely off your face - then I can guarantee you will have a good time in Cheeks!!! And is is not as bad as everybody says - I have nver seen a fight in there, great burgers in there too!
- One in Fleet has suffered a 2nd arson attack so don't bother
with that one. One in Camberley is well-known - can't think
of the name though - oops.
Aldershot has Owls and Cheeks - never had the courage to
try them out so can't comment!
- cheeks, eclipse (now burnt down) and jacks in fleet
- Mixed feelings on Cheeks these days - certainly true that it is a meat market but the music's not bad, and considering there's no real choice, it's ok once you've had a skinful.
- Cheeks DJ's: Best in the area knock the socks off any competition!!! The ones that are usually there are: Paul Michael, Phill D, Alan Prosser, Lee Wetheral and Matt Price.
- Cheeks: Been going 3 years now and still going strong.
Thursday nights: across the board music, cheaper entry, cheaper drinks. Good Mid-week night out.
Fridays: Commercial dance music, swing, R & B, etc. More newer music.
Saturdays: Anything Goes, new stuff, old stuff, and everything in between.
Generally, it is wothout a doubt, one of the best clubs in the area, much better than the ones in Guildford etc. The music is very good, a lot of new stuff, way before other clubs get their hands on it, and old classics of course. Right from 9pm the music is brilliant, and different styles to start off the night. Its usually pretty packed by 11.30pm so get there early. The building itsself has 3 rooms: the main room, a chill out area and an upstairs room, playing house music. There's two drinks bars and a food bar which serves the best burgers in town! The lighting's very good, sound is good, and the atmosphere is good I would reccomend going there to anyone. all of the nights are good in their own way so make sure you try out all the nights.
- CHEEKS.
In responce to the comments about Cheeks nightclub.
Friday night seem's to changed from a party night to
an upfront night with London Dj (Phill D),playing tunes
yet to heard on the radio.
The girls out numbered the guys-the atmosphere was fantastic.
You would'nt have thought that this is a squaddie town.
If you hav'nt tried it then check it out!
If your lucky and you get one of the flyers knocking about
then you'll get in for nothing..
- The only Dance Club in Aldershot worth going to is Cheeks nightclub. It is open Thursday / Friday / Saturday. Entry is £2.00 before 10:30 and £5.00 after. Beers on a Thursday are pub prices but get inflated to £2.50 for a bottle of beer on a Friday / Saturday. Beware! This is a forces clubs and the bounces will give you a kicking for any reason. It is a rough club full of Para's. Having said that i am a civvy and I hang out there with no problem. My advice to you if you are male is to go in a small group and don't get too drunk. If you are pissed and go round bumping into people and knocking over drinks you will get decked. If you are female you will get hit on constantly. I am told this is fun if you enjoy squaddie humour and are in the mood but annoying if you want a quiet drink. Dress for blokes is jeans, T-Shirt (wear a collar to be sure of getting in but not always neccesary) and shoes. You will not get in if you wear boots, maroon sweatshirts or military insignia. Thursday night is a drinking night and you will be lucky to pull (goes for both sexes). Friday is not a bad night, but currently the best night is Saturday with ample opportunities to meet a person of the opposite sex. Female dress seems to be getting less and less each time I go. Near nudity is an option for the girlies! Music is also best on Saturday with mostly Chart and Garage being played interspursed with the odd 70's 80's track. Typical chat up are basic so don't get offended. (A female friend of mine got last week, "Nice arse, gorgeous tattoo, have you got the dirty mind too?) . If you are a guy you stand best chance of pulling if you have spent some time in the gym or are a squaddie. The guys here tend to be huge. Don't be surprised if a woman makes the first move on you in here! (Girlies don't be shy, come over and talk to us!) It can be a fun place overall I find it a very friendly place.
- Rhythm Station. Worth travelling miles.
I wouldn't advise anyone to "travel miles" to The Rythmn Station. The name has now changed to "Cheeky". Reason: A 19 year old boy died in the toilets from a drug overdose. - Rhythm station is now known as Cheeks not cheeky. But despite its new name you still only need to be about twelve to be let in.
