Sports Clubs and Facilities
  • Aldershot Tennis Centre/Clive Asprey Tennis Academy - Sadly this facility is now closed to the public, and is available only for Army use. This will be a great loss to the future of aspiring junior tennis players in the area.
  • There's always the local American Football Club, the Farnham Knights (yeah, I know but they playa nd train in Aldershot). They train on sunday's at Wavell school and play at Aldershot Rubgy stadium.
  • Aldershot Town FC - great club, great fans, great atmosphere. Go and check out a game.
  • OOOOk this is what i'm here for. Well footballers come to aldershot park or the connaught feild any time and someones bound to be there. During the season tho go 2 ivy road. High quality bballers definitely visit manor park ders sum serious quality players who go there, and honestly it is very very rarely no1no1 there so get there early if u just want 2 play on your own,but if ur not tht gd jus cum to watch if u dnt wish 2 b schooled. Tennis players also visit manor park but its best to come early because that gets packed during around midday.
  • Connaught Leisue Centre, Aldershot Park, Manor Park, Aldershoo Bowling, Aldershot Cricket Club, the Ski centre, Aldershot Pool, the gym at Aldershot pool... That's it for Aldershot. Not bad! There are many Sports shops and stuff, but for more places, go to Farnborough, as they have the Rec centre, or to Guildford for the amazing Spectrum. Apparently Aldershot is getting an ice rink, but it will be about 10 years for it to finish IF it ever does!
  • Aldershot Tennis Center aka Clive Asprey Tennis Academy - Since the new management have taken over, there have been a few changes, which have ruffled a few feathers, but overall things have improved. Coaching groups now always have new/almost new balls. Court Bookings are not mixed up. Staff seem friendlier, and more efficient. Anyway - It is just more pleasant to go along for a days tennis.
  • Aldershot Tennis Center - I must add to some of the comments above - Some prices have gone up, but others have gone down. For regular users of the facilities prices have gone down. I have also heard that they are going to be getting floodlights for most of the outdoor courts over the next few months, so look forward to playing on into the night.
  • Aldershot Tennis Centre - aka Clive Asprey Tennis Academy - agree with update - visited there the other day with a view to joining - saw a male member of staff who was very unprofessional in both his manner and appearance - he was wearing half mast shorts with several centimeters of 'builders bum cleavage' visible. It seemed that he was a senior staff member! On talking to other players, they told me that members were leaving in droves due to poor managment, increased costs, and overall low morale.
  • Update on Aldershot Tennis Centre - It has now been taken over by Clive Asprey trading as Clive Asprey Tennis Academy (CATA), and all prices have been increased dramatically. Many members have left, and the centre is going downhill fast - avoid! Try Avondale in Fleet - cheaper with better facilities
  • The Army Gym in Aldershot is open to Civilians for a price, it is top notch.
  • connaught leisure centre do some really good dance classes run by Emma Weir.
  • Aldershot Town FC, Aldershot Bowling, Aldershot Park (Sundays is fun for watching loads of Sunday League football games and fights!, Aldershot Swimming Pool, Rushmoor Gymnastic Academy (In the old Ice Rink)
  • Aldershot Tennis Centre - a very impressive centre with indoor and outdoor courts open to the public. Excellent quality courts, good coaches, friendly atmosphere, and brilliant squad sessions for adults and juniors of all ages and abilities.
  • Aldershot Town FC are now in the Conference and it costs £12 to sit down and watch them. A bargain. Chelsea reserves are also hosted at Aldershots ground on a Monday at 7:00pm and a vast array of talent is often on display for next to nothing.
  • Aldershot Town just got promoted to the Conference so next season should see some decent crowds (3000+) and a better standard of football. Aldershot Ten Pin Bowling centre is pretty good thinks its about 20 lanes or so always quiet and they have a bar which is cheap!!
  • Aldershot Town. They've now sunk so low that they are looking quite respectable amongst the dregs of the no-hopers league. The army stages services footie and Rugby matches occasionaly, but they're not well attended by the locals. The same stadium does host a fine athletics team though (Aldershot Farnham and District).
