• McDonalds! No really, Alexandria is a great place to stay, the people arent rude etc as it is mentioned. All the old buildings such as my priamry school(jamestown primary) which is over 100 years old.

• The views up Loch Lomond from "Little Bosnia". Lots of good walks within reasonable distance.
• Gateway to the rural setting of Loch Lomond whilst being only 20 miles from the urban centre of Glasgow.
• Argyll Motor Works, one of the most decorative factory facades you will see anywhere. The Argyll Motor Company spent so much on its construction in the early 20th Century that they went bust shortly afterwards. During World War II and for some 20 years after it was the home of the Royal Navy Torpedo Factory. It was an Alexandria built Mk 8 torpedo which sank the General Belgrano during the 1982 Falklands conflict. The building has been lying derelict and decaying since the early 70s, but a massive restoration project to turn it into a discount warehouse type shopping mall has just started and is due to be completed Spring/Summer 1997.
• Christie Park, near the town centre, it is kept in excellent condition.
