- plenty of chinese, indian and kebab shops in the area.some quite good.
- Well theres plenty of chinese and Indian restaurants, a local McDonalds, award winning Palombos chippi in 2 locations, Greggs.

- La Scarpetta, is an italian restaurant, often visited by Rangers football players and their management. Famous singers eg Marti Pellow (wet wet wet) have also ate there. A good family atmosphere.
- Several new food shops in the area. About 9 Chinese carry-out places, 4 Indian take aways, 1 dedicated Italian restaurant and some other places, both sit-in and take away, selling probably a combination of all of the above.
- Palombos, award winning fish & chip shop, situated at Hillview Place at the North end of the Main Street.
- Fountain Cafe, or 'Freddies' as it is known locally is an excellent place for a snack meal. They do the best bacon rolls in town. It's just 100 yards south of the fountain.
