Hi, Im wondering if anyone can help me get in touch with an old friend. I lost touch some time ago and thought this would be the best place to start. As above, her name was Janet Scott. Her father had a carpet shop called DCS in Alexandria. She lived in a house called Beechwood on Overton Road.
Other than that I know very little about her apart from I believed she was in the carpet business and had a connection in Harrogate, Yorkshire. Any help would be very gratefully recieved.

| Wedding bands Scotland for less in Glasgow
|
by kblackwood (Member 10164479) on 5-Oct-2005

www.centralmusicagency.co.uk for wedding bands in Alexandria, Glasgow.
The first thing that a couple asks when hiring a wedding band is:
Can you give me a cost?
Our wedding band costs are so good we don’t have to hide them. Just take a look at our package prices under the heading of 7pm till 12pm.
Our ceilidh band The Kippen Ceilidh Band can function as a 2, 3, 4 or 5 piece and don't worry about your dances as we can supply a caller to make your ceilidh go with a highland fling.
If you are looking for a live band that can play covers and a bit of ceilidh then Sound Cradle are your perfect band. Both Heskey and Sound Cradle have played nearly every major 5 star hotel in Scotland with over 200 wedding receptions under their belts. So if you are looking for live bands with experience and the ability to have you dancing all night look no further.
If you would prefer a full ceilidh band and covers band take a look at our very reasonable package prices.
Central Music Agency also supply discos as part of a live band package. If you would like a wedding/function band and disco we give you the most cost effective solution. Just add on £110 to any of our band costs for your disco. Our own DJ, Rick, gives you a light and sound show to die for.
All of our musicians and disco would be at your wedding reception all night. Usually we would set a program of events before the night but this is obviously flexible to fit in with the flow of the night.
Not only do we supply musicians of a first class quality but our prices are very reasonable. Don’t pay the wedding band tax? Our wedding bands all believe in a fair wage for a fair nights work. Central Music Agency only works with bands who don’t add on the cost just because it’s a wedding. ... more >>

| PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Alexandria area
|
by uk511 (Member 10159394) on 24-Jul-2005
|
Welcome to the info page for the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Alexandria area
it operates on the following Channel: 7 CTCSS: 19
Operating Hours: 24 hrs
There are PMR446 Internet Gateways up and down the UK and now across the world that anybody with a PMR446 radio can have access to. As an example of how this works, someone within range of my gateway link can talk through that link, over the internet, and out through another gateway in, say, Belgium or Australia. Someone within range of that second gateway can then communicate back and thus establish a conversation. Accessing the gateway using your PMR446 Radio All the gateways operate a CTCSS access system which requires a CTCSS capable radio with CTCSS set to 127.3Hz (CTCSS tone 19 on most radios).
To access the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Alexandria area set your radio to Channel 7, CTCSS code 19
The gateway is very easy to use. You use it as you would with a normal one to one communication, no callsigns are required, just call CQ or just a straightforward 'Hello, this is X calling from Y, anyone copy?' and you might be surprised who comes back to you as there are gateways all over the world. Note that there can often be a delay from the station that you are speaking to and don't forget to wait for the pips after their over before you transmit. It is also best to press the PTT button on your radio and wait a second before speaking to make sure the beginning of your over doesn't get cut off. If you don't have CTCSS on your radio you won't be able to transmit to the gateway but you will still be able to listen in on Channel 7.
When the system is idle the gateway will play this voice message every 10 minutes identifying the gateway. This message was generated using The Festival Speech Synthesis System on Linux.
During the week the network is fairly quiet during the daytime with most activity taking place during the evening and at the weekend but if it is quiet call CQ, a lot of people are monitoring even if they're not talking...
There are just a few Do's and Don'ts that will help keep the network sane: Don't swear, don't use call or ring tones, do switch off 'roger beeps' if possible.
RADIOS CAN BE BOUGHT AT ARGOS AND MANY STORES IN AND AROUND
PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE RADIOS YOU GET HAVE THE 38 SUB TONES OR CTCSS TONES
thank you from the gateway keeper and we hope you will use and enjoy this free service who knows you could maybe link up with lost freinds and chat with them from all over the world
FOR MORE INFO ON RADIO GATEWAYS AND TO DOWNLOAD A PC CLIENT VISIT
www.446user.co.uk
and download the pc client then you can chat with people on handsets from around the uk and the world for free no call charges or top ups just good old free software and free airtime
