Where to go to get down

You can tell us more about Andover.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • m8 ma crew nik it frm da local
  • Propaganda Music Canteen on London Street is a great place to meet, eat and drink and has a slightly older and more up market clientele.
  • so flicks has been killed... now you have Life... or why not go to a club.. with a bowling ally. woot... fun
  • Best 2 pubs in town - Redbridge at the bottom of the High Street and Propaganda up London Street, which has an outside area which is great in this weather.
  • Well ladies and gentlemen: there is a disused section of warehouse currently owned but unused by Wilkinsons above the shop floor and below Breakers (street side) plans look to show a trendy bar/ club opening, possibly by the name "Skipper House Cafe". I'll keep you posted.
  • What ever happened to Dickie and Smiley Culture?!
  • Club + Bar at Life have replaced Flicks and Chaplins, Bar Life by Day and Club life at night. Still got Breakers which is still a dive though. Numerous others including the Town Mills open until 2am and always good for a fight with some pissed up tw@t wanting to start.
  • club at life, great place to dance, socialise, better than Flicks ever was.
  • hey flicks aint that bad if ya wanna giggle so lighten up n have a laugh wit ya mates!
  • Thursdays Cheese nights have just started and are going down a storm, LOADS of decent birds like me and blokes with more money than sense...Cant beat Chaplins for an early drink, it's open @ 8.30 fri and sat and is only £1 a drink. Better than spending a fortune anywhere else. The Dj's a complete babe, she manages to make Karaoke sexy, but then when you can win £500 anything is sexy!!
  • WHAT A CHOICE....FLICKS OR BREAKERS !!! ITS A CURRY AND A TAXI HOME FOR ME.
  • Dance clubs, I only ever remeber one, back in 1987-1992 FLICKS.... I think its still there I forget to check last time I was back in 2002.
  • Flicks is utterly bearable when drunk - it's always fun to come back to Andover and have a bit of a boogie with god-knows-who from school. 'Cos you can garuantee that you'll see everyone you went to school with at least once in an Andover night out. If you really can't stand Flicks, Town Mills is the non-club option, open til 1am on weekends and subject to really strange decorating taste - a nice mixture of "zones" to mingle in though.
  • Flicks. My god, what a place. stuck in the 80s, and not in a good way
  • Well, everyone in Andover goes on about Flicks being a dive and quite frankly it's worse than that! No word of lie it smells like cheesy feet! The 40 year old squaddie wives are dressed in next to nothing hoping to pull some 18 year old minger (which you usually find in there!). It's normally between £3 and £6 to get in (rip off!) and when you get in you normally see some fat bird being sick over herself! CLASSY! Town Mills has tried to go a bit upmarket, all purple and silver! A lot nicer atmosphere to Dirty Dicks (Flicks)!
  • The Town Mills is open till 2PM Now instead of 1PM and their new website is http://www.thetownmills.co.uk
  • The Refurbished Townmills new web site is http://www.thetownmills.co.uk Flicks will not have a refurb untill Nov 2003
  • Breakers under refurbishment after burning down inunder mysterious circumstances!! Flicks a.k.a Dirty Dicks, the worst dive in town, small expensive and crammed full of idiots at weekends
  • Does Flickes even count cos it's some dive wher you are garunteed to witness lots of fights, police, young girls, bastard bouncers and rip off drinks.
  • Visit the south coast for good clubs, Southampton, B'mouth, otherwise bars etc in Winchester, Salisbury. Oh yeah any comments on how good Flicks is have obviously been put on the site by some dealer who wishes to seek more custom or some fat ho's mumma looking for fresh meat!! And why is there always a fighht after Dirty Dicks and the 'School Meals' have shut?
  • Flicks Nightclub holds 640 people, its the largest club in town, Hang on its the ONLY nightclub in town. We it smells and baddly needs a refit. If your in to larger ladies in there late 30's with bright pink lipstick and red PVC then this is the venue for you!. By the way in March 2002 there will be a Liquid nightclub opening in town(in the old savoy cinema) which will be cool!. I good pub to go to is the Town mills(behind Wilkinsons), it has a mixture of students and some good male and female totty!. Its closed now for 6 Weeks while it has a refit.
  • The only club in Andover is flicks i dunno if it is any good coz im to young to get in!!!
  • DON'T EVER GO TO FLICKS. Really. It's scary.
  • Flicks - that great haunt of fresh faced young ladies - haven't dared showed my 35 year old face in there for four months.
  • Bingo hall
  • Only 2 places to go in Andover really. Flicks Nightclub and Breakers (Bowling alley by day, very small dance club by night) Prices in both are similar, although flicks in very cheap before 23:10 on a friday (£1 to get in and £1 a drink) Ideal on a friday as there's cheap drinks in flicks and then you can head for breakers where the company and music is much better, even if the place is small. If your looking for a proper club though, head for Portsmouth (Time, Route, Europa, etc..) or bournmouth (The Opera House, best club in the south!)
  • Flicks Nightclub is the biggest pile of shit I have every been to. It contains nothing but fat slangs who go there every week in their cheap new look outfits, desperately trying to pull one of the drunken squaddies. Oh and there is also the townie swats who have lived there all their lives and will never leave Andover because thats the only place they'll have any status.
  • Flicks. At the time of writing (Sept 2000) there's a quality 70s night where it's 80p to get in (if you get there early) and 80p for all drinks until about 11pm. Bargain place to go to get drunk with your mates, have a dance to the crap music and maybe pull a grim old granny or a young slapper. There are occasionally intelligent, friendly people there with which a good conversation is possible, but not very often! Andover could really do with a decent dance music venue. There used to be a monthly night called Eden at The Highpost Hotel in Amesbury. Sadly, that's now gone. There must be people in Andover who like decent clubbing! Or will I have to travel to London or to Passion in Leicestershire (best club I've ever been to) for the rest of my clubbing years?
  • Flicks should have a sign above the door saying "only fat birds and thick blokes may enter"
  • the town mills is a late night bar(open till 1 am thurs, fri, sat) with a cracking d.j.friday and saturday and karaoke on thursday.check out the website for more information.(WWW,TOWNMILLS.FREESERVE.CO.UK)
  • Flicks Nightclub: A tacky and expensive nightclub, with twat-like bouncers on the door but could be worse. Usually packed with squaddies and tarts and pissed-up rugby players. Good for a laugh if you are pissed, but not much fun if you are sober. Operates a 'dress to impress' policy - not that anyone could in Andover.
  • Flicks seems to be the talk of the town, but then again there is little else to talk about. I went to Cricklade college and for two years I went to the Students nights at Flicks, which were actually pretty bearable but since then it seems to have become a cattle market, with your pick of squadies. I say beware to those that enter its doors for fear of becoming addicted! (and watch out for the odd flying fist, and perhaps most importantly NEVER, EVER go when your sober!
  • The Snap Discos for teenagers are a good evening out at the lesiure centre, they're on about once every month.
  • Don't knock Flicks until you've tried it, I agree it is the sort of place you need to be pissed to appreaciate, but you can't beat it if your out with five mates (Male or Female) and you just want to jump around like a loon. Besides it's a lot better than anything Newbury, Salisbury, Winchester or Basingstoke have to offer.- Long Live Flicks and it's overinflated pricing policy!
