  • Propaganda Music Canteen is a great place with a good clientele.
  • I stioll have a kinf of alegiance to the angel, despite the regular change of management, otherwise rock on down to the george, or life, or just about anywhere as long as the beer has kicked in enough!! Dick Llewellyn
  • Wetherspoons bring your own atmosphere but cheap beer, Town Mills is pub/cluub. Otherwise the Lamb, Foresters, New Redbridge(pricey) Danebury (Still a dive) The Angel not too bad just to mention a few. Got the George next to Wetherspoons but always full of kids
  • these pubs are full of depressed alcoholics, aspire to them.
  • da angels the place to be if ya wanna feel welcome n know a few friendly faces!try it u might like it!
  • Thursdays Cheese nights have just started and are going down a storm, LOADS of decent birds like me and blokes with more money than sense...Cant beat Chaplins for an early drink, it's open @ 8.30 fri and sat and is only £1 a drink. Better than spending a fortune anywhere else. The Dj's a complete babe, she manages to make Karaoke sexy, but then when you can win £500 anything is sexy!!
  • I DONT EVEN BOTH TO GO TO THE PUBS IN ANDOVER ANY MORE UNLESS I HAVE TO MEET WORK COLLEGUES OR FRIENDS FOR A BIRTHDAY BASH. TAKE THE TRAIN TO SALISBURY OR BASINGSTOKE FOR THE NIGHT !
  • Most pubs were good, dont have anything really bad to say about that.BRITISH PUBS, you cant beat them, love the people love the beer, love everything!, except price of food attrocious!, you can eat cheaper here in Canada.
  • I mourn the loss of the right-hand bar as you wander into the Danebury, but otherwise Town Mills is good, The Globe for its friendly staff (this included Vic up until recently - she is missed!) and The Angel is nice in summer for its sociable courtyard that allows you to join your friends without committing to a drink straight away.
  • The Angel can be ok,wetherspoons hasgone right downhiill, the service is terrible, you have2wait about 20 mins to get served on a GOOD night!!!The Merlins a good bet for a good kickin if you are a stranger!!Its ok if you know the lads up there thouugh!Danebury is full of yuppies, try the borough it gets quite full since tjs bar shut down.
  • All pubs in Andover, without exception, are smelly, rough and serve piss. And nver to minors - they are all out joyriding.
  • For all Andover's downfalls it's got quite a few nice pubs, mostly out in the surrounding villages but there are some nice one's in town. The Angel at the top of the high street is probably the oldest one in Andover, built in the 12th century. It's been modernised (obviously!) but still keeps the air of an actual pub, rather than the tacky "We're a company owned pub and we all have to look the same" kind of thing! It's really friendly in there with a mixed crowd, so it's not predominantly a student pub (although a lot of students like the Angel) but it's not a stinky old man kinda pub either!
  • The George nr George Yard Car Park. Thursday's - free live music - always really good bands! Friday's - rock DJ's playing rock of all types! Saturday's - same as Friday's Sunday's - acoustic open mike Entrance is free and the pub is open to 12:00 midnight. The food is pretty good there too.
  • Lovely Village pubs, Best in town for price and value is Wetherspoons and open all day every day
  • The Borough Arms
  • Town Mills AKA SChool Meals due to the under age students.. oh yeah laugh at the bouncers who earn £2.25 p/h and a bag of hepes per night! Hogs Haed always rammed and now have a DJ who should actually be on ".10 FM as he talks all over the tracks.
  • There are lots of good pubs in andover, to many to mention. But the tourist Information have a cool guide to all of them.
  • Dunno they still won't serve me.
  • Real Ale - Weyhill Fair / Hoggs Head / Wetherspoons Real Food - Fox / Peat Spade Real Women - Hoggs Head / Breakers / Chaplins
  • The Fosters is a pile of Pigeon shit. Only stupid mindless Andover losers hangout there. Where they can perv at the tarts who walk past the window, flashing there tits and cellulite.
  • Railway Tavern. Top pub. Secret meeting place of the Andover Badgers, a loud rowdy group of males who consume vast amounts of beer. Some of the said males claim to be fantastic footballers for the local Fire Station, sadly mistaken I'm afraid boys. Can't say how the badgers came about but will mention a few names : Mr Greg Wells ( one of the founders ), Mr Ian Milton ( my man ), Nr Stuart Tuson ( Claire's thorn ) , Mr Andy Pederson ( Sted ), Mr Mark Tolphry ( linked to politics ),Mr Bazza Watts ( drinks like a fish ), and a Mr Paul Hughes ( honoury member ). So beware .
  • The Angel is good for rockers or people of alternative taste. On Friday nights they have some decent music banging out in the courtyard. Hogs Head is great for totty and is a bit more posh than most of Andover's pubs - but that's not saying much really. The George has a late license at weekends which is handy.
  • Andover has a few good pubs. The Southampton Arms is just down the road from me, not far from the cop shop. Nice beer and a big screen for all those footy matches. In the centre of town The Forresters is okay, but quiet. The Globe is okay but if you want a good meal and a pint either go to the Hogshead by the cinema where Sunday lunch costs £4.95 and they always have guest beer on, or the Angel at the top of the High Street.
  • The Lamb, Winchester Street - One of the oldest pubs in the town, and a notorious student hang-out. Good Guinness, but at £2.10 a pint it ought to be. Crap juke box, but for some reason it is still a good place to go.
  • Chaplins, London Road - Part of the old cinema complex, along with Flicks nightclub, and the Savoy cinema. A trendy place to be seen, and full of young girls dressed up! The bouncers are generally wankers though.
  • The Danebury, Bridge Street - An over-21s venue, not bad, but full of people who work for HSA or TSB.
  • The Southampton Arms, Winchester Road - A favourite spot for Andover Rugby Club, and few better pubs in the town. A good pool table, 50 pence a shot vodkas on saturday night, and rough tarts. Phil is a great landlord, along with his wife Sue. Fellas to look out for include Steve Denby (you can't miss him), Ian Phillips, Miles Smith, Matt Nolan, Bert Baxter, Ben Maloney, and dave Hoo. A great pub.
  • The Wellington, Winchester Road - A good pub, well looked after beer - Speckled Hen is the best in Town. Dom is the landlord, and has good bands on most weekends.
  • White Hart, Bridge Street (Simon's bar) - Great place to eat and have a quiet drink, they have themed nights and really good pub food!!
  • The Railway Tavern is a good place to start - and stop!
  • The Lamb every time!
  • The Angel Inn: cos it has a cool juke box and a seperate pool room and is always packed on Fridays from 12 in the afternoon till 9 at night when everyone goes down the Lamb.
  • All of them are pretty nasty, none of them make the effort, we are talking the kind of bars with sticky carpets, that bloody awful stained yellow wall paper, piss weak lagers and no decent wine, a music policy that does not extend beyond buying Now 98, bunging it on the stereo and then cranking it up so loud that you can't here your self think. At long last there is a Hogshead pub, with a decent door policy, excellent selection of food and alchohol and a well thought out interior that is comfortable and roomy - its bound to fail.
  • Don't muck about try this for a night out. Railway Tavern (A nice starting point), then taxi to the Danebury (just the one here coz it gets a bit busy and they can only afford one barmaid per thousand customers), a hop and a skip to the Forresters (You'll get served quicker here than anywhere else) - then the Hogs Head (huge selection of beer and a nice outdoor section) - shimmy up to Chaplins ( get there early or you'll have to pay!)- then about 10PM the smart money goes on a stroll round the corner to the southampton arms, by far the best pub in town, when Phil finally stops serving vodka at 50p a throw it's time for a curry at the Eastern Eye!- Large night out!
