  • The depot- new park (council run) up in charlton sports centre where the old one used to be. It's okay...got a mini, driveway, 2 flatbanks few quarters manual box curved rail grindbox, grind bar (double kinked) all black metal, gets very slippy if there's a hint of moisture in the air thoug....it does the job, open till 10 most nights and it has lights. but they now charge 50p to get in (unless you're sly) and has been known to be over run with micro scooters... it's alright though i guess. www.myspace.com/age_of_ruin - visit now and buy a copy of the andover skate video dedication.
  • WANTED! MOUNTAAINBOARD SPOTS! sweet technical runs if anyone knows any? Dick Llewellyn
  • CRICKLADE COLLAGE, ROMANWAY SK8PARK
  • Skateboard spots, hmmm. chantry was always good, if you didnt get chased by secuirty guards. Also there is a real smooth peice of road, just down in charlton in between the 2 one stops.
  • Andover has a sh**tload of good spots, you just ahev to know where to find them. It's 2003 now, and Roman way has a skatelight skatepark that SUCKS...full of 3 yr old kiddies on microscootters that get in your way and make you stack, then when you moan their huge burly tatoo covered mothers come up....not a pretty sight.... But hey if you like that sort of thing, mixed with an oversize and underweight mini (tall and thin), a 1ft box and some weird air ducting stuff to grind then have a look by all means..... Plus now all the ramps are covered in cola cos the bmxers think it makes then good and grippy...... Walworth industrial estate is where its at. When you exit the A303 from B.stoke or Salisbury, take the Walworth exit....When you get to thie first roundabout take the 2nd exit then the first at the next, then take your first left. Look to yur right and see- 'the drops'. 2 car parks on seperate levels, forming a naturally increasing drop from curb height to around 2ft. Nice run up, surface, landing, loads of space. Its a dream to skate there. Plus the owners never complain as long as you're not idiots. Also there's often old pallets and bits of wood around which can be built into stuff. As long as you put it back after. We used to have an amazing grindbox up there, about a foot high and 15 long and it was sweet. But wee kiddies left it out in the middle of the carpark and eventually the owners got annoyed and smashed it. After you're done there you will want to do a HUGE gap, so leave the drops and turn left. Take the next left you can go up, and follow the road upwards, look to the left and see the Metcalf gap. So called cos a guy called Dave Metcalf did it years ago and had it named after him. Me and my boy's have all pounded ourselves on it so now it's your turn...About 6 ft high over a flowerbed onto brick landing. Not too pleasant (run up is brick too) but could be worse... Around the corner there is the woodchip gap (we made that our bitch first haha) which is a long uuurm- woodchip gap (need I say more?). and next to that it a new addition which as yet we have not done. Nobody has. It's enourmous. Tim Gill thinks he is gonnahave it this summer but I'm not so sure. Take a look anyways...Nest to the woodchip gap is a path, follow it down and turn left into a carpark (you can walk to this, its 30 metres max), ther is a double set (4 and 5?) with crap runup and landing (has been done though), a brick 3 set, and some ledges. One has a bollard after it which makes for a sneaky gap, try flipping that it's not pleasant. and a block about 2 ft long which needs serious waxing. Theres loads more around walworth, and if you go down to the bottom of the Ind. est then there's another side to it across a couple of mini roundabouts. That has a few little things, but nothing worth mentioning. If you turn left at the bottom of the estate at the roundabaout and take the next right at the next mini roundabout, then you're in pilgrims way. Follow the road up the back, there's a few gaps off of the garage rooves there (not that you are allowed on them mind, you can look and that's it...or not). If you go into Pilgrims way and just search around (when you first get into the estate, turn left at the SWALLOW pub, then go down that road nearly to the end, park where the 2nd underpass is, then go into the estate) there's a sweet 7 set (steep and a good height, uphill runup but it's okay paving slab. Landing is fine to roll on but a bit gritty at times so don't fall over...). Along the road from there is a long low 10 set, easy as pie if you wanna bag yourself 10 then that's the one to go for. Weird run up good landing... Could go on for hours, there's george yard stairs (by the George yard car park) We call em the toilet stairs. Ten set, big but good runup and landing (except thers a little step up to the stairs, not even a half curb height but enough to be off putting, so take somne board with you...), and a heavenly rail down the middle...which we are all too pussy to do as yet. But we shall... Oh there's a big garage roof to drop off there, sloped runup, I'm not a fan to be honest... Also southstreet (curbs are dead now, and the 'new s.street crew' are nobs...) is always a go-er, the 4set at college by the banks, and Lidls car park. Lidls is new, it has a manual block (curb hieght but the perfect length to trick manual or whatever, just wide and long enough to make it a challenge) it's also waxed and grinds nice. Across the road it the bus station which has a big block, which is also nice to grind, if a little chllanging. On a friday night try going into the chantry centre its open till 9.15. Smoothest 6 set in the world and perfect glorious wide benches for grinds and manuals galore. Shame you get chased and kicked out most of the time. But every now and then they dont notice and you get half an hour or so hehe... That's all I can be bothered to put. Apart from to sa God this site most not have been updated for years. Dobson's on London and doesnt skate anymore, Barfield is sick as hell still but only comes out now and again, and Nath T...hmmm....He's a good lad though I'll saya that for him....
  • Much of Andover it seems
  • Recently taken over. Friendly crowd, good atmosphere, beautiful garden and outside bar. Altogether wonderful place to cotch with your crew and get royally mash up in the sunshine.
  • There is one skate park in Andover the only thing is the halfpipe has been burn't down and the flood lights have been taken away.I would personaly prefer to go to Salisbury or Winchester!
  • In a corner of a field, somewhere near Charlton Leisure Complex (sounds grand).
  • leisure center
  • Bunch of Arse street spots. some fun like leisure centre banks. make sure loads of mates with u as big pond right by it. Not worth going to alright to stop by on way through to some where or other. Skatepark in industrial estate. takes hours to get to and chocka with kids and rude boys. Well fast ramps but essentially blader park. Ramps not sunk into ground properly. halfpipe not wide enough and pyramid is miniscule. good fun and floodlit. the case often is you can't move for townies and pre schoolers.
  • New park coming for 97 in Winchester Road...
Hot news on the skate park in Andover. Recently I heard that if the park is not allowed in Winchester Road there it will be built in a warehouse on a industrial estate. There will be almost everything you can imagine: shop, cafe and viewing stand, people are comparing it to Radlands. BUT can it be true that this will just be for Rollerbladers and BMX? [Wot? No Snakeboards?]
  • Magistrates court next to college. Selection of brick banks, somewhat gnarly brick lips that stick out. Quite mellow, easy to ride. Steps and a very close handrail. Usually people there evening and weekends. Keep away from college's side. Safeways good slope down to fly-off type bank. Lots of other spots: seek out court skaters and ask...
  • Freestyle ramps installation. Mini
  • Andover had a legendary park at the beginning of the eighties. The skate club converted an old open-air swimming pool. Scene of many exploits. Not all of them on skateboards. For example, the time a visiting team of Scottish skaters thought they could dine and dash en mass. Forgetting that their accents combined with boards etc meant that tracking them down was never going to be difficult.
  • Andover home of many up and coming skaters who liked to be named ASM (Andover skate monkeys) these skaters are some of the I've seen, people like matt Dobson Hall, Nath T (Big T ) Peter Heather (The Ginger Ninja) Alex Barfield (Damon Albarn) Ben Sodgers ( Poulos).
  • Matt Scott Campball is one of the shit hot skaters I have ever seen he grinds curbs, blocks, banks etc which will make you bring tears to your eyes. He makes me sick!!!!!!
  • Just to update you on Andover, It is now Summer 98, and still no skate park. My children are all barmy on skating and have even started a petition (they have about 700 signings to date) to persuade the council to build them a skate park. I hope they agree, cause I'm under pressure to convert my garden and prize lawn into a skate park! Colin
