Who has set up this web address puting down the village, It is not how you make it out to be, I have lived here all my life and I would not want to live anywhere else! From your negative comments I can only presume that you are a "Wanna-be arcadian" (although judging from your wit i can only presume that you come from london and probably only spend the weekend in the village ?) The site also n eeds up dateing as some of the info you have said is out of date ie. when you talk about the pub I only assume you are talking about one of my friends John (it has now changed hands again (still very good) as you would know if you were to visit!) If you do come from the arc area come forward and show youself and do something for the children (of which we have all been at some point of time)and who is the balding person of which all the kids (me included as this was written some time ago)go to. This sight is out of date and just runs the village down yes its quiet, i know the buses arent brilliant, but if you want a flashy night life, then youd be better of going in to andover. People like the village for the peace and quiet. People dont move in to villages for pubs and clubs, we live in a beautifull little v illage, the walks are great the country side is beautifull we have a small and friendly pub, regular activities going on in the village, a brilliant little play school, and a great school, craft fairs, bands playing down the village hall, yearly village fete, and flower show. The maker of this sight doesnt give the full picture of the village, i think you need to get out a bit more and see what is going on around you! And as for our bolding criminal, who is he? I am looking for a John Thomas Crabbe from freshwater, Isle of Wight. He was in the Royal Navy on board the The Shackleton, around 1959-62? based around the river clyde in Scotland where he was friendly with a Bob Mitchell and Geoff Cleary.He would now be aged around 63ish? His mothers first name is Joyce. I think he may also have brothers and a sister. I believe he now resides in the Northants ar ea. I am looking for my stepbrother who would be 56-57 yrs old now. During WWll, 1943-44, my father, Robert "Gordon" Cole was stationed at Aldershot. He was a gunnar instructor in the Canadian Armored Corps. While there he would go into London on his leaves and there he met a love. Her name possibly Emma, we are not quite sure on this. We can only hope that son was told of his father and given a name to know. My father had to return home to Canada when injured in bombings. If you live near an electricity sub-station, particularly one owned by Southern Electric, and there are no mobile phone masts near you, beware. Southern electric might well allow a mobile phone company to install a mast and base station on their premises before the laws are tightened. At present masts can be within 50 metres of homes, but new legislation will bring in a limit of 200metres (in Aust ralia and USA the limit is 500metres). Masts of 15metres height or less don't generally require planning permission. One 2 One intend to erect a mast just 50 metres from some of the houses on our estate, at a Southern Electric sub-station and we're all trying to get it stopped. Only the government and the telecoms industry say there's no health risk from the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the masts, all the other experts say there is a risk. Look out for inconspicuously placed planning notices at sub-station and look through the planning applications in the local press. I don't think our situation in Frome is a one off.
