The Worst Things in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire*

The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

You can tell us more about Ashby de la Zouch.

• Mikey the Drug dealer
• No where to a) have a nice cup of tea after 5.30 on a Friday evening or b) public toilets, you have to go to a pub. That's shocking.
• abundance of charity shops
• Having to come back and visit and see what a dormitory town its become. Lost alot of its soul and even more of its local characters. Full of Brummies who use it as a convenient place to commute to work without putting much back into it.
• Westfields and concrete jungle, oh and willesly estate.
• The proposed new one way system, get real council, if you herring boned the parking in Market Street you would treble the parking overnight !
• all the charity shops - no disrespect intended, but come on we're in desperate need of some mens clothes shops and we soooooo need a coffee house (starbucks).
• The morning after eating a Market Street RatVan ratburger.
• PEOPLE FROM NEWHALL THAT CANT DRINK IN THEIR OWN TOWN, AND SHEEP SHA**ERS.
• The local council's attitude to the Town. Where else in this country is a curfew still enforced (unofficially!)
• Ashby Grammar School
• The Derby County supporters
• the worst thing about ashby is the bloody road coming into to it because it takes ages to get in especially when the schools finish in the evening and start in the morning becvause of all the buses. Also the open air swimming pool is a pain because you can't use it in the winter.
• The "Local" newspaper always gloats over Ashby's problems (Being Coalville based) The town has a Jekyll & Hyde character at weekends, with frequent bloodletting to Dracula proportions at weekends, and the local Police seem unable to control the town.
• Ashby is such an inward looking town, the natives all know each other, and residents from nearby Coalville frequent the high street on weekdays, as they consider it quite posh. However, the rest of the county thinks Ashby is full of Slappers. Which it is. Myself excluded.
• Poor bus service, last one to Leicester leaves about 20 to 6 Mon to Sat. Very poorly served by Public Transport, as a result,frequent traffic delays on congestion snarled A50. Pub fights at weekends, we seem to be a magnet for all trouble causers in 20 mile radius and football supporters some weekends. Bad news if you are under 16, nothing much to do other than put your make up on and try and get served!
