• everything is cheap in atherton, especially the women!
• CHECK OUT STEPHANS ON CHURCH STREET!
• try jjs off licence! good food and cheaper than any where else i've been!
• Lots of take aways in the town centre, a few chippys in Hag Fold and Little Italy near the Train Station
• Indian restaurant the Far Pavillion isn't too expensive. The staff are nice and the food is great. Other than that, try the numerous bakers.
• welcome obesity. Atherton is proud owners of the most unheathist take away system going. about 5 curry houses, 10 chippies, 5 pizza parlours, 3 chinese take aways.
• The Stop Inn Owned By Cheap Skate Kosovans, I'm Sure the kebab is a dog sorry "Was" a dog, ne way just a few doors down is the best kebab shop in atherton Don Luigi's. The chippy next door to Luigi's Serves huge potions of chips, The med Fish bar at the bottom end of atherton ,nice food but rubbish portions.

• Great Indian Restaurant - Shaan Balti in Mealhouse Lane.
• the meditteranian fish bar is another of athertons most famous eatting haunts as people come from miles around just to taste their wonderful pork kebab.......very very tasty!
• Spoiled for choice when it comes to take-aways at chucking out time.
• Stop Inn do a mean Lard and brown cabbage kebab
