- dont bother with cosy corner unless you want bautcholism and irreversible food poisoning. waterfields do a mean wigan kebab
- STEPHANS OF ATHERTON ON CHURCH STREET NEXT TO THE RED LION PUB IS GREAT VALUE AND DOES A MEAN MEGA BREAKFAST, PERFECT FOR SOAKING UP THE BEER AFTER A NIGHT OUT AT THE ONLY PUB IN ATHERTON WHERE YOU DONT STICK TO THE FLOOR, MOORHOUSES PENDLE WITCH.I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS PLACE AND THEY WILL EVEN INDULGE WEIRD ALTERATIONS TO THE MENU SUCH AS NO EGGS DOUBLE BACON ETC WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE THEY WANT TO STAB YOU!
- A few little cafes in the town centre.
- There's a place called 'Cobbles', but I've never been in it.
- The greasy spoon cafe on market street. coffee pot near the town hall, and the Tea pot in Riley's snooker.

- the only cafe that i can recommend is the steak house cafe, it has been in atherton for what seems eons and is still the most popular,caters for dinners and evenings,weddings and christenings........excellent affordable food with a smile!
