- Someone has mentioned that John Newton of "Abide with Me" fam (Actually written by Henry Francis Lyte) was from or lived in Aveley, this according to all of the documentation available on him has never been mentioned and out of all the Hymns he wrote "Abide with me" is certaninly not one of them , his most famous hymn is "Amazing Grace"

- wHAT ABOUT THE ROAD RUNNER HIMSELF. THE DJ OF THE SEVENTIES. The Aveley Born Funk and Soul D/J Chris Savill. He brought the American Funk & Soul Imports to the Local Aveley Youth Club, some nights packing 200 or more at the Love Lane Venue. Kids then but most in their thirties now. Also covered venues: Culver, Barretts, Grays Hall, West Thurrock, Romford, Birmingham, Stafford East London Tidal Basin Tavern. Only Just Retired from the DJ Circuits Uk.
