- 88, riverview or something, une,
- The coffee boat was always good for a dose of food poisoning and a stabbing back in the day
- Das Indian Carryout for all your donner pizza needs
- The 88 Chinese take away near the railway station seems decent enough.
- hot wok
- mACIE d'S
- Shanghai Rendezvous - the food is the epitome of all things bad with Chinese takeaway, but it is cheap and full of easily wiped clean surfaces which tells you all you need to know about the clientele.
- BHS made the best breakfast for only £1.95, you could order up to 9 items. My friend told me that's sad that I remember that. The Chinese Restuarant across from the Asda made the BEST Smoked shredded chicken, but it too was shut down. Rats, or something...
- Actually, this is advice for where NOT to go for cheap food. Namely the Caprice Bar and Restaurant in Newmarket Street, where I went(May '05) for lunch. After taking our order, the waiter came back and said that there were no Pizza's on today (WHAT!!!). Everything else on the menu was extortianate, so we decided to go elsewhere, but get this, for a pint and a half of ordinary draught lager a coke and a lemonade, the COST WAS £8.90!!!! They must be aving a laugh!!! (I wasn't...)
- You can get gorgeous caffe lattes for £1.25 at the Tudor...to take out of course :)
- unos, unos, unos!!! thats all we got 2 say on this subject. its quite possibly the best takeaway stop in ayrshire!
- MIDNIGHT EXPRESS AND UNOS R PROBABLY THE FINEST TAKE AWAYS IN AYRSHIRE LET ALONE AYR. WE TRAVEL FROM KILMARNOCK JUS TO EXPERIENCE IT AND ITS A TRIP WELL WORTH MAKIN. NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. IF YOUR ONE OF THE CRUISERS THEN THESE TWO ARE A MUST!
- waterside ayr a definite let down sub standard food poor customer service tables wobbly if it was free it would be too expensive
- Dino's across from the cinema is good, but you have to pull strings
- Unos is semi-new (as of july 2004) on the sandgate and does great kebabs and has amazing pizza sauce. There is also a dominoes just opened very recently. Both deliver...and you could buy 2 unos for every 1 dominoes. The guy i spoke to at dominoes was demented couldn't care less.
- Sweet Chilies at Balbirs (Elms court Hotel) has fan-blooming-tastic quality Indian Food. No-one else comes close to this!!!
- The Room's nice for Mexican, Bonfanti's for Italian and the Royal Blossom for Chinese. For a nice little fish and chip shop, they did Dino's up fairly recently, and it's very nice now. Four Cats do some pub food too.
- Best is dinos at the top of the town
- If your visiting Murkirk to obtain spiritual fulfilment rather like a monk that achieves inner radiance by living in a fuedal manner, you may like to try "The Friendly Fish and Chicken Bar" in that town. While there may be few compliants about the food, the customer conversations will enable you to see that tunnel vision of some and how a lifetime of indoctrination is simply achieved by the first 16 years.
- New City, fit guys too!!
- Pierino's, Bonfanti, Santorini's and Cafe leTo are all good for an italian meal. Rupee room is good for an Indian, and Seven days and Ryal Blossom are good chinese restaurants. The chinese by the railway station is a good carry out also
- Bonfanti is a nice italian, as is Cafe LeTo and Pierino's. Seven Days is a good chinese and Rupee room is a good indian. Dinos is a fab chippie/pizza takeaway
- update this site!!! terazzo mediteranio is closed
- For a great Curry.......... Rupee Room.
Take Away (chinese)........ Kenneths across from Clydesdale Bank Alloway Street.
- The Rupee Room on Wellington Square, an Indian restaurant with a difference. Superb atmosphere, friendly staff and service and the food is absolutely mouth-watering. The "open" glass fronted kitchen also lets you see exactly how your food is being cooked.
- OK. You haven't experienced real food until you've been to Terrazzo Mediteraneo the mediteranean restaurant situated above Dnates. The food is to die for and the small homely atmosphere always makes for a good night out. Not cheap but extremely reasonable (especially at lunchtime as the portions are HUGE). Staff are friendly and the whole expereince is an extremely enjoyable one.
- Stefanos on Newbridge street in Ayr is theee best place in the town for freshly baked pizza. It is the only pizza only takeaway in the town and I personally would recommend it if you enjoy authentic tasting food. All pizzas are made to order and the guy actually makes them from scratch in front of you they also offer a good delivery service in the town and all outlying areas.
- The BEST place in the whole of Ayrshire for a fish supper (and ice-cream) is the Wellington Cafe, near Wellington Square. Chestnuts Hotel, along Racecourse road is worth a mention for their great bar suppers.
- There is nowhere to buy cheap groceries in the town centre. You've got to treck across to Asda and back!
- The Coffee Boat Take Away was rebuilt several years ago so if you go to the harbourside looking for a boat like building it has gone but they still serve the same old greasy food.
- The Royal Blossom The Best chinese in the town down by the harbour
- The best thing about Ayr is Bonfanti's Italian restaurant - cheap and cheerful.
- The Coffee Boat is the best place to eat when you come out of the pub. It is right on the harbour and is a food stand that looks like a boat. It's the big hangout after going clubbing or going to the movies or the shows (which is the amusement rides). I was very suprised that you didn't have it listed. It has been there for years. My mom hung out there when she was a kid. I was just there recently and it STILL has the BEST hamburgers and pizza in town, and probably always will!!
- The Chinese food is disgusting.
- Chinese Food - The best in Ayr is found at the Eighty Eight in Smith Street.
