- Marlow, Rodeo Drive, These Guys, 13: 13
- The best indie band to come out of Scotland since The Jesus and Mary Chain, "The Dirty Hepburns" make beautifully emotive indie rock:

With a string of floor-shaking remixes under their belt, and some of the best original dance music (their own style of "Wobblecore"), Emotiquon are on their way to the top, gaining attention from BBC Radio One! Look out for them on the festival scene:

Gaining credit and attention from several festival promoters for his poetic lyrics and breath-taking songs, Jamie McGeechan is perhaps the next Jack Johnston. With his band Little Fire, they play at any bar where they're offered free booze.

And for all the Tool, Biffy Clyro, and Q.O.T.S.A fans, Ayr's "Zetas Empire" will have you pogo-ing and throwing your beer all around the place. Well crafted and melodic songs with more guts than a haggis shop:

- I WAS THE LOCAL BAND. Goodness knows. There's some highly original talent in Ayr, take Simone Welsh, the precautious violin player - who looks as good as she sounds. I haven't spoken to her for years, I wonder how she is. She's the most amazing violinist in the world, and I should know, I've heard her, and she's the quickest, wittiest, sexiest little violinist in the history of violinists in Ayr. If I was in Ayr, I'd be playing with Simone...
