- A mention must go a former resident of Baglan, Mr Andrew Holme, who died earlier this year of cancer, he was only 28. I had the pleasure of growing up with him in my early to mid teens and is sorely missed by everyone who knew him, not least by his parents. At his funeral the Crematorium was completely packed out which went some way to show just how well known he was. RIP Holmsey, gone but NEVER forgotten
- Helen Owen - from SunnyCroft. Famously known for interpreting in the Grand Theatre and for her television work for Deaf people.
