• The New Flyer(olde auctioneer) does top food at 2 for a fiver with the friendliest staff.

• The Sheesh Mahal Restaurant has an all new modern and funky image in it's apporach to Indian food - atmosphere is great and the prices aren't bad either!
• the Jaipur is probably the best curry house in town, and my barbecues...you just gotta see what i can do with my sausage!!!?...db

• Best chinese takeaway is the Bamboo Garden, good service and reasonably priced - and they don't mind if you go in mingingly drunk and can't sign your credit card signature properly.
• fantastic for pizza on the high street now- 3 places!

• Thai take-away on the High street opposite Blockbuster, be prepared for a long wait, it's so busy.
• Banbury now has a Pizza Express, which is well worth visiting. Things are looking up! Also, the Bell Inn at Shenington about 4 miles west of Banbury does lovely food in a rural setting.
• Jaypur curry house on Parsons Street is well lovely; top grub and loads of it. Upstairs is a bit dark and 'intimate' but otherwise it's a good vibe, too. Prices not too bad. A1 Chinese is still running the 'all you can scoff for £14'. It's all pukka gear off the menu, too, not just a buffy.
• Recommended restaurant Raj in Parsons St together with 3 others Lin Hong Chinese Restaurant in High Street - good food and value.
• The Unicorn - Market Place - has been taken over by new management and the lunchtime trade has really taken off. Good food, reasonable prices and adequate portions. Give their daily specials a whirl.
• Vichy's / The Thai Orchid - Parson Street / North Bar - both restaurants share the same kitchen and are owned by the same person. Oriental and European cusine. Can be pricey, so be warned. Check out the Thai banquet (£18 per head) for a special occasion.
• A1 Chinese Restuarant - Warwick Road - have just started to do an "order as much as you like from the menu" deal, but you'll need to book. Great for parties.
• There is a lovely Indian restaurant in Parsons Street, and an excellent kebab shop in the market place - their chicken kebabs are the nicest I've had anywhere - great massive chunks of chicken breast rather than little pieces... yummmmm.
