  • Yates's is a nice place to go have a drink in the lounge area and nice to dance the night away on the dance floor
  • the sound exchange, but beware as banbury is the drink-spiking capital of the uk.
  • still far too predictable .. same old same old drm and bass house and techno same old same old sound xchange is wak pull a bird hav a scrap get a kebab go home repeat every weekend big up to natty marks dub nite at the mill!
  • Chicago rock -for you older rockers out there- dance on the tables if you want
  • Broken Promotions @ Hobsons plays Banging Hard House and is quality in a less than excellent venue.Resident DJs Rob Grant, Tony Heron, Dean B and Ryan H + quality guests. More info @ BROKENPROMOTIONS.CO.UK The Bothered crew plays hard dance and does the pre-party for Broken and does its own party.Residents Anton Steward, Babylove, Sprite, Walrus, Dyson. More info mail bothereduk@hotmail.com.
  • Skank for Trancey nite, Raising the Deep for Drum and Bass, and don't ever go to Broken EVER!!! And keep away from the 'Exchange' unless ur STEAMING!!!
  • Banbury has one club, The Sound Exchange. No one over 18 would be seen dead there. Please please build a decent club.
  • The Sound Exchange High Street Chicago Rock Cafe, Broad St
  • there are no real nightclubs in Banbury, the ones perporting to be clubs are too shit to be acredited by the term night club...db
  • Hobsons Choice
  • Mmmh. The Sound Exchange, but it's pants. Expensive drinks and full of either drunken youngsters or people who are old enough to be your parents.
  • Sound exchange-go there at you peril, disgustingly expensive drinks, considering were you are.Cocky, very much up there own arse staff.Same faces every week, and no decent lookin men.On the plus side, most of the bouncers are lovely if your not causing trouble and the two managers, Steve A. and Gary W. A are really sound.[Not bad looking either.]
  • go to see live music eg banbury jazz club at the hotel- you'll have a much better time than skancadelic!
  • Skankadelic is the best you will get,Exchange club and rest are too cheesy
  • Raising The Deep, Still a top night out despite me not being let in again on Saturday due to neanderthall bouncers refusing to even hear that I was on the guest list.....Hobsons is a shit hole anyway....Move somewhere else
  • Hobsons has now improved greatly I reckon you should check it out New bouncers and good atmosphere
  • "Raising the Deep" (http//:www.freespace.virgin.net/john.smith.10 Sat 28 Aug -DJ Fabio (Metalheadz, Radio 1) Sat 25 Sep - Optical & Ed Rush (metalheadz , Virus Records) Rasing the Deep, Butchers Row, Banbury, Oxon, M40 junction 11
  • One of your entries mentions Picassos. Well, that's now been shit as they went bust.
  • Hobson's Choice despite its history now hosts some excellent evenings pulling in quite big names - Skankadelic is the place for techno/trance whereas Raising the Deep and Groove Therapy provide superb drum'n'bass/hip-hop nights. It must be remembered though that the venue is a complete dive and all these events especially Skankadelic would benefit from being (back) at the Mill.
  • The only club worth investigation is the Sound Exchange. Smart interior, can be a little young, but great music. PS. Its a bit of a meat market.
  • Churchills is now called Green d'Or Picasso (or 'Picassos'). It's a small club but gets a fair few folks in on Fri & Sat. Mix of ages, but tends to be over 20. Sound Exchange has two floors for dancing: Downstairs is full of drunken 15 year olds, where they play garage/house/charty stuff all night. Upstairs is older (21 and up) and on Fri/Sat, they play 60s-90s funk/soul
  • Spectrum and Churchills - avoid these like the plague on a Friday or Saturday night unless you are under 17 and like naff pop music at high volume and hideously priced drinks.
  • There is a new [autumn 96] nightclub called "The Sound Exchange" which is sort of a part of "The Exchange" pub. It's usually only open to people of 21 years or older, but on Friday night, 18 year olds are allowed in.
  • Hobsons Choice (but they're all pants)
