  • The Wheatsheaf, my God that was ROUGH. Spit n sawdust. If u werent wearing a leather jacket and in with a biker gang, you'd be stared out of the pub.
  • the elephant and castle, grimsbury, if you think your hard enough
  • There's a by-law in banbury which forbids anyone from staying in one pub for more than two pints between the hours of 7 and 10.30. It is also against the law to sit at a table after 8pm. All girls must have their shoulders tattoed at the age of 16
  • Admiral Holland,Woodgreeen avenue, probably one of the few remaining locals in Banbury.Ideal spot if youre prone to a bit piss taking.
  • New Flyer (olde auctioneer) good mix of characters and cheap offers. relaxed feel and good food. what more do you want in a pub.
  • the bowling green steakhouse restaurant & private hotel food available 7 days a week (lunchtime & evenings) bookings advisable. 01295 263465.a privatley owned business hosts phil & karen slater &son jacob
  • the bowling green steakhouse restaurant and private hotel
  • JT's on Friday nights...new night called ESSENCE bringing you the best in uplifting Trance and House...really good night, with a late licence too! Perfect pre club bar before Hobsons!
  • Again, any pub that Katherine Ridley spreads her legs in (which is just about every pub) is a good pub to get laid in.
  • this may be libel but the Three Pigeons does seem to get in a lot of trouble with the trading standards people over food poisoning.
  • h+j shit hole, but home to many
  • Musky on Ruscote estate- quiet & different
  • JT's in the summer for the dancing on the tables outside, and Muswells, er sorry the Warehouse. yates aint too bad, but the Litten Tree is bollox, especially the doormen - u know who u are! Also Chicagos ... YEUCH!!
  • Getting better...Yates, The Litten Tree & Toad are all pretty good. I personally prefer modern bars, done out in funky colours with Ikea type furniture, fingers crossed something will open up soon!
  • for the dissearning football crowd The Blarney Stone....for the dickheads the town centre pubs...db
  • Banbury Cross
  • coach & hourses, Banbury Cross, The exchange, Hobsons,
  • Loads of 'em. Muswells (as everyone still calls it) now open til 1.00am at weekends, has a good crowd and some special vodka shot type things that they make, eg. Mars Bar vodka, Skittles vodks etc.
  • the mill is great as is the wine vaults- the best thing recently is pubwatch- it means you can go out in the town in relative safety, and not have to behave like Robert de Nero half the time(" you looking at me..... yeah ... you... you looking at me?")
  • J.ts and the Flyer(old auctioneer)are my favourite pubs
  • Muswell's is no longer called Muswells it's called The Warehouse. However, the locals call it the Whorehouse as that pretty much sums up what the place is like.
  • Ye Olde Reindeer Inn, naff name but it's really old. Great sandwiches, good beer and mega selection of Irish Whisky.
  • If you want a cosy quite pub with a decent atmosphere, away from all the teen drinkers and 'lads' try the Old Reindeer Inn on Parsons Street. Its the oldest pub in Banbury and famous for its 'Globe' room.
  • Correction about the pub in Tysoe - not now run by Ros and Trevor so I can't vouch for what it's like anymore... however, the best locals, my parents, have moved and now have their own pub in Greatworth (last exit before M40 southbound at the Banbury junction), called The Inn. Mum does great food, including regular favourites such as chilli, lasagne, but also slightly different stuff like pork in apricots, tarragon chicken etc. Great banoffee pie and other homemade puds (rhubarb and ginger crumble...mmmmm). For real ale freaks, it's a Hook Norton pub.
  • Ye Olde Reindeer is the oldest, and most famous, pub in Banbury. Serves a wide range of Irish whiskeys, popular with young and old alike. Does an excellent quiz on a Wednesday night.
  • Banbury has more pubs than you can shake a stick at. For the best try (in town) The Unicorn, The Flying Horse, The Buck & Bell and The Dog & Gun, (Estates) The Easington, The Musketeers and The Barley Mow (Bodicote, a village one mile south of Banbury) The Horse & Jockey and The Plough (which has its own brewery!!)
  • I'd suggest a couple of additions to the Pubs list. Firstly 'Muswell's' should be added as it's a well established and very popular bar. A new bar has just opened up called 'The Exchange' and is also very good (has no music but a good atmosphere). 'Ryland's' and 'Pride's' should also be added in my opinion. They're all town centre pubs and are now pulling much of the business away from the older places mentioned on the page (like the Unicorn and Buck & Bell)
  • Five miles north-west of Banbury, in the village of Farnborough, is the Butcher's Arms. Fantastic food and good beer.
  • About nine miles outside of Banbury towards Stratford on Avon at a place called Middle Tysoe. There is only one pub in the village, The Peacock, but it is run by a couple called Roz and Trevor and they are a great laugh - tell 'em Lorna sent you for the crappest service! just kidding - they'll be chuffed to little minceballs! It's a sociable pub, decent food, pretty good regulars (including my pop!) - and it's a pretty village for a walk around on a Sunday afternoon.
  • J.T.s the new addition to Banbury nxt to the multi-story ..not bad not bad.
