The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- Underground magazine 'Off The wall' was brilliant!! Covered the Dr Kelly saga and asked one particular policeman why he'd had to lie about the time he attended the scene and about the position of the body. Result: the writers homes under surveillance and phones bugged. Well, well, well.
- Slightly corrupt police, as was reported in the Guardian some years ago (haw haw, yes Ive not forgotten, PC Davies!!)
- not really anything else to say, fun town, some nice bits some not so nice, its interesting
- Banbury is mentioned in Gulliver's Travels.
- Here here to the first comment!
Okay guys, the facilities for the 16-20 y/olds are limited, and the population is either largely old or very young, the rest moving out to seek places more interesting maybe. But please can people just make a bit more of what they have. Have these peple ever lived elsewhere to realise that the facilities and the locality we have in banbury isnt so bad as they make out!
Personally I am moving out as I cannot stand any more of the attitudes of the influencial minority who seem to seem happy bitching and bemoaning the place, whilst remaining there 'If you cant stand the fire...'.
Good luck Banbury - give it a couple of years and I think things will really be looking up. Just knock down that damn coffee factory and employ all the staff in tourism!

- http://www.draytonschoolsos.co.uk - Parents Against Closure of Drayton School.
There is a proposal to merge Banbury and Drayton Schools and give the Drayton site to Blessed George Napier School (BGN) (which is currently next door to Banbury School) and combine the BGN/Banbury site into one school. This would involve Drayton pupils having to move to the Banbury School/BGN site, the implications of which include increased travel and dangerous roads to be traversed by the students, the loss of one of the finest school sports facilities in Oxfordshire, and the loss of parental choice of school in the Banbury area. The parents of Drayton School have formed a committe to fight this proposal. For further information or details of how to help please use the above URL.

- i think people generally put Banbury down too much- its not that bad a place to live in. Now that i have moved out i do still enjoy coming back for the weekend just to chill out. People should look at themselves a bit more before criticising their environment too readily, and see what they can contribute to the town.
