• There's a band called Brando on the go now that kick the ass of most commercial,also a load of young rock metal bands are starting to pop up.
• The only places are really, the Central, the Aul' Fife (at a push), the Bayview in Macduff (do they have any music on these days?) and the Ten-Pin Bowling place in Macduff, also. As for the midi-based stuff, most do that BUT, if they can sing and it's decent midi-files what's the problem? The only venues nearby that are actually BIG enough for a proper band set-up are the hotels!! -Best head to Aberdeen (but, even then...)
• Tattie sheds in portsoy, last year played host to local band Cover to cover, they were ace. Aging but good, played recent stuff, snow patrol and some of the golden oldies and the BIRO. the teenyboppers moaned about them cos they weren't the typical ned mince they listen to. BIRO in my opinion however were good only disappointment was they left the stage at 12.45, which sucked cos it was a bit of an abrupt ending. Tattie sheds only occur in the summer however.

• The Seafield on Fridays. Occasionally the Aul Fife on Low Street, and the Central on Gallowhill. Most bands are crappy midi-based fools, however.
• hah now your asking, well the plough and the central put on bands and the seafield occasionally hosts the north easts punter friendly talent
