  • donegans
  • Underage galore in Cafe and Wolseys
  • stay away from the prim and mcburneys
  • cafe mocha
  • bar 15
  • upstairs in jenny Watts, really corny music. So good!
  • Jenni Watts - where to go when you're too old for the other places or never fitted in there in the first place or just wanted to avoid that enormous-arsed, red-shaggy-permed woman in Wolsey's
  • It started with a kiss in Wolseys.
  • Not Fecking cafe ceol the worst hole in the world !
  • the rose! best local around!
  • bangor bay inn
  • ava
  • For lung cancer go to Jenny watts/ Wolseys. Go to Wolseys if you are a man that likes young men and Jenny watts if you are a man that likes older men or divorcee women, all of which are last chance saloons.
  • We are too old for anywhere but Coyle's which is always full of men. When did it turn into a gay bar? Mind you it doesn't put any of my mates off. Anything you want to tell me?
  • coyles is the place to be.
  • The best pub in bangor for a nice pint and quiet m'larky is Donnegans beer garden or the Windor hands down. Woolseys is awful and the bouncers can be arses at the best of times, well worth staying away from!
  • Don't go near cafe or wolseys-simon is a gimp and they are tight-arse wankers!I think we can all agree that the flange is a pile of piss and bobby is a short-arse twat
  • the windsor is good for uncle Lindsay style fondling, or for the more "experienced" lady, try the Crown front bar. I prefer Coyles - Surly staff warm beer and psycho sluts. check out Ben and Hans the gay bar staff couple - they're a sitcom waiting to happen. i love you guys, but not like that
  • The Buffer
  • what we need in bangor is a good loyalist club to let all the taigs in Bangor know we are here
  • fuck wolsey. and that faggot called scott who thinks he is a manager. dont make me laugh he likes to get underage girlies pregnant....watch out yours mite be next
  • god, the pubs in bangor on a friday night are dire. I've been drinking in bangor for about 13 years and I can't stand the place now. The place to go is bar 7, the apmosphere is great.
  • all pubs are crapp full of scum bags
  • Full of pervs!
  • Wolseys is by far the best pub in Bangor. The musics great (flange band rock), The bouncers are all decent blokes except for the occasional "I.d. Please". If your quick enough to grab a table you won't have to be scared of suffocating.
  • Again, gay/lesbian bar needed in Bangor, more diversity
  • Tarven we go there every saturday
  • wolseys down stairs
  • the fuckin viscount, sort of place you wipe your feet on the way out
  • The Jamaica Inn circa.1997.(You all Know who you are!)
  • JAMAICA INN - BRILLIANT FOR A FEW DRINKS WITH UR MATES! THEM WAITRESSES AREN'T TOO BAD! NICKY IS A STUNNER AND THOSE TWO NEW GIRLS ARE PRETTY FIT (BOUT 17 OR SO.....mmmmmmmmm VERY TASTY!)
  • wolseys
  • jenny watts, wolseys,mcelhills,bryansburn
  • Wolseys. Nothing else. Except maybe Fealty's. And that's only at a push. Cafe Ceol is still ponce personified, although Bar Mocha would be classified good if their Wednesday night DJ wasn't so crap and it wasn't one of the worst designed bars on earth. Bottlenecks everywhere you move!!!
  • the Windsor lets in 12 year olds. the owner is an arse hole, i have worked for him. the rose is much better. 1st port is always goo and let a slightly older crowd in (14).
  • 1st Port Bangor: Known as The Steamer and Mc Millens. One of the nicest pubs ive ever visited. Pleasant and helpful staff, and an atmosphere second to none!!!!!!! Gr8 Grub 2!!!!! Even on Friday or Saturday nites, when its packed, it still has a gr8 atmosphere! No trouble makers, underage drinkers, boneheads, binlids, or steeks to b seen......just pure gr8 craic!!!!!!!!!
  • ROSE & Chandler!!!!! every1 is so friendly!!
  • Wolsey's is a complete shit-hole and should be avoided like the plague; this goes for Cafe Ceol also. Donegan's beer garden is nice in good weather, and Coyle's cocktails on Mondays are also advisable. The Jamaica Inn, on Seacliff Road, is excellent for drinks and for food and is an ideal distance from the drunken teenagers that assemble incongrously at the bottom of High Street after last orders.
  • ughh
  • Windsor has the rule in which no-one is allowed in to drink if they are over 18. Those retarded bouncershave saved my of my nights in the younger days.
  • Coyles for the mature!
  • Wolseys is a great pub, original and authentic! They is a mixed crowd but for a casual drink at the weekend it's great! Again Bar Mocha and Donegans are nice places for a drinky. But please could someone tell the staff from Cafe how to clean their tables and seats! The place is so rundown and as Jade would say "Mingin"!!!!!
  • Woolseys,Woolseys,Woolseys the only place to go and we're not all hippies ya know!!!!!
  • wolseys. windsor
  • there all shite, bangor=full of wee dicks wanntin 2 be somthin,up the north belfast UFF
  • Has to be Wolseys, started going back after 10 years, fucking magic
  • windsor
  • OK, I'll make it very simple for you. The Pub Quiz on a Monday in Wolseys is the best damn pub quiz there has ever been, without any shadow of a doubt. They play great (real) music. The 2 guys who compere it (Kayso & Craig) are very funny and all-in-all it's the perfect way to start your drinking week. If you are lucky enough to win you even get a crate of beer for your trouble, and everyone is guaranteed a prize of some description. Word of warning though, don't ever take the free beer they offer during the night as it will give you the shits! Honestly I can't recommend it enough. Me and my mates go there nearly every Monday, and if we miss even a single week we get withdrawal symptoms! Also check out the always sick team names that people use. They even give a prize to the best one!
  • Wolseys is kicking every other bar in Bangor's ass at the moment. The place is busy nearly every night, with some great entertainment on offer. Very relaxed atmosphere as well.
  • The nice friendly pubs where everybody just wants to know your name and your goddamn business.
  • bouncers are all wankers
  • Wolseys is the capital of publand in Northern Ireland. No-seriously. But please teach those new young women that serve behind the bar how to do it properly. Guinness takes at least 5mins to settle, not 2.5 seconds. And more cleaveage please while we wait. Those new pictures on the wall are fab though.
  • Recently went into Wolseys for the first time in ten years, and there was the same people i used to knock about with still propping up the bar
  • Fealtys is a legend.no fuss no bravado no pretentions, superb,a thinking man's pub. Putting grass in the bar for euro 2000 was a real masterstroke. The last proper pub left in Bangor, and it dosen't use gorillas at weekends,no need the staff are well switched on.
  • Legends serves lovely cocktails
  • As far as im concerned, if she is in a bar, shes 18, that god for Wolseys, keep up the good work. Love them fresh
  • any decent bench in Ward Park
  • Wolsey's - had to change my opinion of this place. Before I moved to England I hated the place but 12 years on it's not too bad - possibly the only place where you don't feel the entire clientele could be your children! Gives people from "The Barn" (remember that one kids??) somewhere to spot a few familiar faces and "get one together" (if you know what I mean!) for old times sake.
  • If you are looking for a good pub in Bangor, why bother? they are all shite. they are all just places for steeks and under age girls to hang out.
  • Bar Blue at Springhill!
  • Club Maund offers a more chilled out pub session every friday night to wet your lips for the build up to the weekend. P.S We don't care which lips you want to wet.
  • Fealtys is where you can have a wasted backgammon showdown with pub regular and game master Colin.
  • stables groomsport quality
  • The Bets Club - Oh Yes, the best
  • Wolseys downstairs rules!! Good atmosphere, no trouble, good pint, sofas round the fire if you're lucky, nice people. Brilliant night out. No one gives a toss.
  • Right, a quick note about the Viscount up at Springhill. Granted, it doesn`t get the biggest crowd, but come in on a tuesday night, u get a happy hour, and u get a great little quiz. and there`s a good happy hour monday to wednesday, 8 til 9 and on a sunday evening too during the live football. Plus the food is really good for lunch. oh, and i`m not getting paid to write this. And may i just say that i think bangor is better than belfast cos basically, everyone is just so much more desperate
  • Fealty's. The only real pub left in Bangor, brave enough to have real decor and not some keek bought from Pubz-R-Us. Real sawdust, turf, dogcrap from time-to-time on the floor and real characters. Far too real for underage/trendy self-abusers. Go there and get mortal.
  • Fealtys? Dont make me laugh - that fucking hole should be knocked down
  • The Viscount at Springhill - empty like a ghost town!
  • live it large in calicos (not!!!)
  • Have you be to Cafe Cake hole recently, shit, you dont even need pubic hair to get in any more, where's my rain mac?
  • Wolseys downstairs, good atmosphere, rarely any trouble, good mix of people, lively on a weekend. R&C, not bad, cool little alcoves for sneaky smokes! Cafe Ceol, pretentious but some nice ladies frequent it, same goes for Bar15. Calicos also has a good selsection of minky, but as is well-documented, the bouncers are arseholes.
  • Wolseys, Fealtys, McElhills, Calicos maybe. Otherwise, get ta fok!
  • As regulars we think WOLSEYS is the best! Contrary to popular belief, on entering you won't be overcome by clouds of marijauna smoke coming from the crouds of dreadlocked hippies. Most of the bouncers are great, sometimes joining in on the dancefloor! Besides, they aren't just there to drool over the "fresh faced young ladies" like a few other places (but not mentioning any names). Wolseys is one of the only places left that hasn't been taken over by steeks, tarts in knee high boots, posers (ie people with their head up their own ass) or junior school students. It's a good laugh and there's usually a good enough crowd without it being too packed. People only slag it off cause they can't get in!
  • I would strongly recomend the idea of a pint or two in the delightful Jenny Watts. However you might want to break something before you leave to avoid further lining the pockets of Bill Wolsey.I'll bet I've paid at least one of his mortgages.
  • If you are between fifteen and seventeen years old and you are having trouble getting in to places you should give Allens a try the bouncers (sorry doormen) will let you in under strict instruction from management (sorry the weasel by the name of RUSTY) the place usually has to send the band home as their aren't enough customers in the place! So if you fall into that age range why don't you give it a go come on face it - they need the support! Don't worry about getting into trouble cause the actual owner is usually blinded with alcoholic beverages!
  • Jamacia Inn is nice enough though it is true about the rugbys, can get a 'bit' packed. Winsdor shitte hole don't go near it unless you enjoy looking at people who could be your children. Wolseys nice enough place but can get cramped. Ava very nice place with massive TV thingy, great for watching things.
  • Machines - If standing in pubs all night, Gavin, playing Fruit Machines (and I don't mean Pogo Brown!) is your thing then here is your definitive list of machines in good Bangor pubs (28/03/2000): Wolseys: Psycho Cash Beast, Bucanneer, Big Bucks, Las Vegas Strip Cafe Ceol: Psycho Cash Beast, Red Alert Ormeau Arms: Each Way Nudge The Windsor: Are you taking the pi*s? The Crown: Camelot, Boulderdash
  • The windsor is a nice pub, don't give a fuck what other people have to say.
  • Boom Booms is for stuck up B*@tards!! and the most shit place in Banger (coming from an underage person!) P.S I have never had any probs gettin in!!! Scott the manager dude is also a stuck up git who I'd like to see improving the place a bit! Even the staff tell their mates not to go on friday nights cause its a waste of money!
  • Calicos is good apart from the wanker bouncers
  • If you are looking for a cracking nite out - club Maund is the answer! it is fucking brilliant. Any fucking around though you will be swiftly dealt with by the bouncers (BIG Gaz and Jim) with a "monkey wrench".
  • The usual Club Maund on the Donaghadee Road
  • none suitable for over 19s; try Crawfordsburn or golf clubs
  • Wolsey's is O.K. For BGS teachers, Ledgend's Wendesday night.
  • Jenny Watts for that old skool feel
  • Please, gorgeous men come to Calico Jack's on Saturday nights. Bangor's single female population is suffering a decent man drought. This unofficial single's bar is lacking good looking, 'old enough to legally be in there' lads. Dance to great songs like "Delicious" by T-Spoon (don't you love it!) Unfortunately we need more men in there who it applies to. See you all soon!
  • All pubs in Bangor are crap, flawed by the fact that you will probably have a combined age greater than everyone else, staff included, and you have to be ever allert to the threat of alcohol fuelled violence. Once, trying to get into Wolsies, i was asked for a passport, the day I show a passport to get into a pub I will want to get it stamped and go through customs. Try confusing doormen by giving them I.D. which states your actuall age, if they then ask how old you are say "17". This they are not prepared for, usually after some confusion you get in after a gruff "Well you look 21 anyway". Also try getting served in the Jamaica Inn with a '17 Today' badge on, I am convinced it would work.
  • Don't go to Cafe Ceol or the Boom Boom Room as it is full of pretentious arses. Jamaica Inn ( otherwise known as the creche )- where the rugbys hang out.
  • Wolsey's good for the hippies on a Friday night Windsor for the young crowd Cafe Ceol for the trendy young twentysomethings - ie pretentious arses Donnegans for the thirtysomethings Jamaica Inn for the rugby players and all BGS pupils Jenny Watts for BGS teachers at lunch
  • WELL, AS THE OWNER OF THE WINDSOR I AM NOT A LITTLE UPSET. IN FACT AS THEY SAY IN BANGOR GRAMMAR: "I'M JOLLY WELL GOING TO TELL PATER". I'M A HANDS-ON TYPE OF BLOKE. THAT MEANS I DON'T MIND CLEANING UP THE SICK, THUS INSPIRING MY STAFF NOT TO FEAR VENTURING UP TO THEIR ELBOW AROUND THE U-BEND. I THINK MY STAFF(MOST OF THEM, ANYWAY) ARE A SPIFFING BUNCH, BUT AS ONE OR MORE OF YOUR CONTRIBUTORS THINK DIFFERENTLY I'D LIKE TO FIND WHICH ONES ARE BEASTLY SO THAT THEY CAN RECEIVE A FUCKING GOOD WALLOPING. INFORMATION LEADING TO SAID WALLOP WILL ENTITLE ONE TO A PINT OF PREMIUM LAGER AND A CHEESEY CHIP.
  • The AVA- cheap pints and good beer. The Rose and Chandler- More expensive, nice Pub. Wolseys- Smelly but good music Cafe Ceol- Trendy and expensive, poor bar staff. Calico Jacks- Big and full of steeks. and many more!
  • make sure u go to wolseys where the dirty dj will try 2 catch young children doing stuff to each other anyone who has been to the web site knows what i mean
  • The BETS Club on Queen's Parade - working mens club, excellent atmosphere, pints are £1.30, shorts £1.10 and none of your shitty English measures here, you get 35mls in each measure!
  • Still open to 1am. Calico Jacks, Penny Whistle, Jenny Watts is nice and old (and stuff) so is Donegans. The Ormeau arms has a live folk night on Fridays. Bohrans and fiddles and things.
  • Like I said before, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO THE WINDSOR. Also avoid Calico Jacks (at the side of the Marine Court Hotel), the doormen have severe attitude problems, they let too many people in and it takes ages to get a drink. To add insult to injury, the music's always crap and they even have the nerve to charge you to get in...
