• You cant visit barking and not go in to the Spotted Dog one of the oldest pubs in barking outside th station, but not to be confused with the barking dog (which should in my opinion be demolished) - it will be one of the things I will miss when I leave barking. Great glasses of port to while away a sunday afternoon in soft comfy worn chairs or if it is a lovely day you can sit outside in the beer garden. You can have a very relaxed atmosphere, or go on a Friday night when it is a little more fun with the odd band. Old fixtures and fittings NO carpets, NO fruit machines and above all, NO chav's.

• The Top-Up poncey pub is great for those crazy Russian Mafia guys selling women (its ok, they dont come with mother-in-laws)

• "The Lord Mayors Erotic Dance" is a bloody good pub. It sells all types of beers for half the price as it would cost to get a dog nuetered. "Are we having Hun yet" is a Germans only pub. "Higgleby Pigledy" is a rock pub and has had such bands as "Forty Two in a cage", "Paul Cadens Revolving Machine Head" and "Mangtra" play there.
