Cheap Food

• last time I was in the bottom chinese it was expensive, pre produced and minging, thats why it was the last time. the top chinese has stopped doing sausage and chips! bugger
• there is a chinese but you never get the food you order
• you can't better than jennifers takeaway it's top quality
• There is a pizza cottage [T], castle tandorri[T], Lucky house (chinese)[T&R], Golden Gate (chinese)[T], and Spice island (indian) [T&R], Tasty Macs [T] and maggies plaice (Fish and Chips)[T&R]. [T]- Take away [T&R]- Take away & Restaurant
• dont go to tasty macs as an alarming number of people suffer severe throwing up after eating things bought from here.
• Would heartily recommend "Hole in the Wall" at the back of Newgate (by the free car park) Great restaurant service, lovely food and it caters for smokers. For pub grub try "The Three Tuns" at Eggleston and ask for Lucy.
• Barnard Castle has some really great restaurants - possibly the best of which is "Blagraves". It's pretty expensive (circa £25.00 per head!), but the food is great and the service very swift and friendly. It's traditional English food - but with something for everyone, including vegetarians. Well worth a visit!!

• Apart from dodgy pub food there is The Old Well, which is dodgy pub food, but of a higher quality. There is also Blagraves which is a reputed stopping off point of Oliver Cromwell
