Just outside - THE THREE TUNS at Egglestone serves very good food and drink.
- Follys is the only place to go in Barny after 10 o clock
- Lots of these. Old Well, Charles Dickens (Formerly the King's Head of Dickens fame), Turk's Head, 3 Horse Shoes, Castle Wall etc, etc
- The "Fox and Hounds" in nearby Cotherstone is a lovely pub, and # the pub landlord, Michael, is a great character. They serve Black Sheep bitter, plus all the usual beers/lagers, and have a great food menu too.
- This is about the only thing Barnard Castle is good for on a Friday night and even then after a couple of weeks it can get a bit boring. A couple of pubs where everyone tends to congregate towards chucking out time are The King's Head, The Wine Bar or The Turks Head.
