- Soundgarden near Barnet Tube Station has a good range of electric guitars for good prices. Just don't try to sell them your stuff - they offered me £8 for my acoustic! Good place though.
- KMR Audio for recording gear, mics etc. High street Whetstone. www.kmraudio.com
- Sound Garden Music Shop, 36-38 High Street Barnet, opposite The Avenue pub. They have a really good selection of guitars and other stuff like drums and keyboards. The people who work there are really friendly and helpful. 020-8441-8603

- Libery Hall is excellent. Sells primarily guitars and basses in the middle and lower price ranges and even offers music lessons. Earthworks recording studio is nearby, and I think Liberty Hall has some sort of studio as well. Ah, was renamed 'The Sound Garden' in 1994 or there abouts, when Soundgarden were actually good.
- There's a stall selling Musical instruments in the market: guitars, banjos, harmonicas etc. Pretty relaxed people. Definitely Sats but I don't know about Weds.
- Liberty hall it does guitars 4 cheap!
- Dial a tune on Barnet High street
- Guitar shop on the hill down to the odeon, opposite the Firkin pub. Quite small but its got a recording studio in the back
