  • Check out Metalbrew (www.metalbrew.co.uk), the best rock/metal outdoor festival in North London this coming July after 2 successful years since its launch. Held at Mill Hill Rugby Club.
  • The Stables, Lytton Road, New Barnet. Live jazz on Sundays. Live acoustic session on Mondays
  • torrington pub in finchley (but you have to be 21).
  • The Green Man pub is having bands upstairs. They have moved some pool tables to make more space. I went to a charity event there organised by the Sound Garden Music Shop. There were a few bands and the sound and atmosphere were really good. The Bull sometimes has bands, and the Monken Holt.
  • Old Bull's got decent jazz if you're into that sort of thing, plus couple of other bands playing on a one-off absis. beer is relatively cheap, plus it's within staggering distance of just about every pub in barnet
  • Hopefully soon to be playing in Barnet are "The Brink" who are currently gigging in the local area, but haven't quite reached Barnet yet. The nearest place to see them is probably Borehamwood, which isn't too far away to see such talent. Check out Borehamwood, Shenley, London Colney, St. Albans and Watford (not all exist on knowhere yet but they should do soon.) on Knowhere if you're interested in seeing these very talented musicians. (My favourite band, and I see many.) They do some covers nights, and some originals nights (usually depending on which venue)but both are brilliant. They are actually tipped to be the next big thing.
  • Bull theater
  • Firkin every now and then, some pubs have DJs, but mainly you'll need to go out of Barnet if you want something more satisfying than a huge piss-up
