• Cork and Bottle has superb food,check out their curries and Hangover cure All day breakfast saturday and sunday.
• Roasties from gammon Walk...Need i say more!!
• Giovannis is nice and resonably priced as is the Fullahm and Painted Fan. Weatherspoons is just Weatherspoons. The only fast-food outlet is Wimpey, still somehow clinging on to the edges of the universe in the town centre and two "drive-thru" McDonalds. Barnstaple hasnt quite got the hang of the whole eating out thing, "it must be something those city folk do..." Oh, and good luck if you want food on a sunday evening because you're more likely to starve.

• Plenty of restaurants/take aways in and around barnstaple..wimpys, maccy d's,few chineese's,indians,itallians,mexican,dodgy burger/kebab places(where hygeine standards leave a lot to be desired).
• it aint to bad around here...theres whimpy (never eat there myself of course) uh...MacyDs(but u have to Walk AGEZ to get to it)...pizza hut (finaly!)and...Mr.Ms (if ur drunk, lost all taste... go there!)
• Kebab 2 is great for garlic bread and cheese.

• Do not eat the rolls sold in Sherrys , its like munching on a cereal box!!
• THe Rising Sun is the best place for a roast dinner, at just £2.50 for o.a.p's aND £3.50 for others who can complain! they are open 11.30am-2pm.. GIVE IT A GO----U DONT KNOW WOT U R MISSING OUT ON!!!!!!!

• ALI'S!!! IT HAS TO BE ALI'S!!! Ali's Alcove, the kebab shop in the sidestreet between High Street and The Strand sells the nicest kebabs, and jemmy twitchers, which are just multi-coloured kebabs. I say the food's nice, but I've never had it sober so it's probably grim.
• Re Zeus Greek Restaurant --- Is now China City, very good chinese restaurant! Zeus has closed down.
• Zeus greek restraunt. Ganges Indian in Newport. Chippy in South St braunton Essential refuelling stops
• Only Wimpy
• Must try the pasties in Barnstaple at a host of locations i.e. Butchers row. The smell of fresh bread on the weekends is a must even if you cant afford it.
• For a lovely lunch pop into 'Sacks' restaurant specialising in jacket potatoes and filled baguettes(found on Tuly street by cattle market) Also get lovely tex mex food at 'jalepeano peppers'in the evenings.
