• Barnstaple Music Centre Is a wonderful shop. Very helpful staff with a huge amount of knowledge. They may not have a range of top line Guitars and amps as big as sound pad but the sheet music, accessories and the friendly staff more than make up for this. As a saxophone player this shop is my only source of reeds, notation paper and care equipment (cork grease, pad powder etc) without resorting to the internet and waiting days for delivery. Sound Pad is your main shop for anything 'band' based (Guitars, basses, drums keyboards, PA etc), a huge range of equipment. It can feel a little intimidating for the beginner but the staff soon make you feel at home. So basically if you play guitar, bass drums etc go to soundpad. If you play brass, woodwind or any "classical" instrument or need sheet music get yourself to Barnstaple Music Centre. Barnstaple may only have 2 music shops, but they are so well suited to the needs of the musician we don't need any more!

• mmnnn the only two that i and most people know of are the music centre in cross st or sound pad along the rolle quay, not a lot of choice hey.

• soundpad on rolle quay is the best shop for guitars in the whole of devon. barnstaple music shop is great has loads of sheet music (cross street) and theyre very helpful in there

• Soundpad!! One cool shop, loads of guitars, drum kits, keyboards etc. Really nice amps, the lot. They let you use EVERYTHING! On the other side of the shop there's a small room FULL of speakers & amps, and a set of decks! There's another shop, but I forgot it's name.

• The Barnstaple Music Shop is great, there's a bloke who looks about 103 and a bloke with a beard and nothing else working there. Shite instruments, good music book selection. For Barnstaple.
