The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Barnstaple.

Pubs
  • BEST PUB IN BARNSTAPLE MUST BE THE CORK AND BOTTLE,REAL ALE,REAL COCKTAILS AND REAL FOOD
  • CorK and Bottle has the only real cocktail bar in Barnstaple.Beer gardens also good on a sunny day
  • The Tavern in Diamond Street is staffed by moronic yokels. Don't expect to feel welcome if you're not local.
  • Weatherspoons is somehow an oasis in a cultural dessert when it comes to pubs in barnstaple, but it is frequented by chavs esp on fri/sat nites when the people actually leave their houses and do something exciting with their sad little lives. The Olive Branch is nice and modern, but too quiet. Other than that just local dives. Oh, and EVERYWHERE shuts on sunday nights - why????? Its pathetic!
  • the exeter in used to be legendary for gruff but brilliant brummie landlord and youthful clientele, although rumour has it it has now changed hands and things aren't quite the same...
  • eccy.
  • It seems like there's a pub every few yards u walk in barnstaple..great news u might think...eerr no especially when most of either full of dodgy pervy old blokes escaping from their wives (with even dodgier music) or overcrowded trendy places full of fresh faced youngsters doing your head in. To be fair the only decent place left is weatherspoons...but only for a quick few cheap drinks.stay in there too long and your likely to go insane from lack of music to hum along to, a headache from too many voices all yappin at once and feeling extremely claustrophobic with achey legs as u realise it'll be hours before u nab a seat to sit down.
  • If you are looking for attractive men -which are hard to find in Barnstaple, the check out PV's by the taxi rank. There always seems to be some cute ones.
  • If you want to meet the freaks of Barnstaple then take a stroll down to Exeter Inn. There are some right weirdo's especially at weekends.
  • SHERRYS..NO underage unlike most places, best jukebox in town, oh, and check out the the head doorman -HIPPY CHIC.
  • SHERRYS - Best pub in town by far.......! N.B. No boring farts with no sense of humiour. And feel free to wind up the glass collector.
  • dont know i dont spend nights ont he town - too young.
  • Cork and Bottle, good for drinks and big chairs and surfers.
  • Jalapenos do the best strawberry margaritas anywhere!
  • Old Barn Inn in Bickington is the worst pub for life but makes the best pub food in the land
  • The Exeter Inn, only at Christmas, unless you enjoy your own company. And I won't hear a word said about Alan, he is a fine man. Someone saw him smile once. A pub for the discerning visitor.
  • The Northcountry- best pub in Barny by a long chalk - best jukebox in town as well
  • if you like to surf the net and have fun exploring sites like knowhere ect then the REFORM INN @PILTON BARNSTAPLE IS THE PLACE because they now have north devon's only cyberbar with super fast athlon pc's connected by isdn line. check it out its the dogs bollocks....honest
  • sherrys is a dive go ther if you want shit beer
  • Heaton Court on the river - cool in summer.
  • Well Berties is no longer the place to go GLT's on the Square is a club now and is very hot
  • Corkers.
  • Excellent pint of Bass to be imbibed at the Corner House on Boutport Street.
  • The very best thing in Barnstaple is the NORTH COUNTY INN, Mermaidswalk, Boutport Street, just round the corner from the High Street. Many greetings from Prague to their staff, especially to Corinne, from Patrick Kylar.
  • Mr Berties/the tavern whatever you want to call it is pretty cool but its popularity especially with young people means it gets really crowded. Neverthe less I have had some brilliant nights there. (fit blokes) Corkers = nice atmosphere but again very crowded
