• If you want a fun evening doing sommat that you probably only associate with childhood. Try Chicane model racing club down on Pottington estate. They race slot cars (scalextric type) 4 nights a week. Its good old fashioned innocent fun...well except for a few of the dad's who just hate losing a race to their kids! The guy who runs it is in the Pannier market on a Saturday.

• Grumpy shop assistants are scarce? Only in very few shops will you be welcomed with a nice friendly "HELLO"! Quite depressing and shopping can become a chore as you want to whack everyone you are served by. Shame.
• Exsports (now Sports Link) has got to be the greatest sports shop in town, with all the best giorgio clothing available its got to be the one for everyone!Not to mention the best staff and most up himself manager!
• Best thing about Barnstaple is Corkers Pub, because that's where Angela hangs out. Oh boy does she hang out!
• The best thing about Barnstaple is Louise Benett often seen in the Tavern in the Town.
• Tourist visits from Tim Shambrook of Vermont Australia.
