• Jade Fountain, Cavendish Street - This restaurant has been known to serve up maggots in their soup.. If you want a case of E coli then eat the All Day Buffet.. Its full of Chavs, its just a pity they dont get a case of sever shits that kills the T'wats!!

• Jade Fountain is the BEST place for food, it's a Chinese restaurant. It's a posh chinese restaurant upstairs, and a buffet restaurant downstairs which offers a massive range of CHinese food for people who aren't looking for a peaceful, stay at the table atmosphere. ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet for a great price. Did I mention that the food is devine!!

• never ever i tell you, go to the hot potato take away,the foods minging anyway, but the staff are pratts and if u fall asleep after a heavy nite on the beeer and miss your order u get blacklisted!
• Greens Pie shop. Best meat and potato pies. Sutherland Street pie shop if Greens isn't open. Diggles hot pots. They are all a sole reason to visit Barrow in Furness.

• salvanas, paulo gianni's and nick's are all reasonable if u take advantage of their happy hour offers and so is the custom house. Queen's on Bigger Bank is reasonable too, the food is ok but nothing to rave about
• Well if you want quality cuisine and a pleasurable dining experience, u need look no further than Mcdonalds on a saturday around 1pm. u may even spot a celebrity (behind the counter serving chips) will be one half of the previously mentioned ex boy band Mystical Experience. if you don't mind the abuse that you may occasionally encounter from the town's dregs (chav and chavette) then Fast Food is the way to go- enjoy the fat busting routine my friends.
• If you want food poisoning, visit the following takeaways: Barrow Charcoal Grill, Sizzle Inn, Istanbul Food, The Sunlight and Frying Plaice. Safer places are: Shengs, Panda Gardens, Marmaris Grill, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC, Yungnein, Hot Potato and The Waterlily.

• I would just like to say that I am from the South of England and loved going to Salvanaa. This was untill they stopped taking bookings from me over the phone as I had a london accent. I had to get my friend to call and book a table for me. I think that places like that deserve a bad name. I havn't been there since and spend my time in the Queens in Biggar - the best food I ever tasted

• In the Barrow-in-Furness info you heavily list The Customs House. I've been to the Customs House, I would not recommend eating or drinking in the place! No atmosphere, slow service, indifferent food (despite attractive menu), henpecked landlord, willingness to embrace 'Magnificent Barrow' (through glib local gutter press features & chummy relationship with local Enterprise Centre). Not clever, not fun, and definitely one for the dustbin.

• Make sure you know what you're talking about - SAMS caf closed years ago after a fire. How often do you update your page, and - have you ever actually been to Barrow in Furness? Good town, with friendly people. Loads of shops etc. Get a life and stop whinging about something you know nothing about loser.
• Dont go to the ferry, its shite and its not been cleaned properly since spring high tides flooded it in feb last year! Manageress is a partonising lazy bitch as well!

• Wei Mings opposite Alfs for the best Chinese Takeaway for pub grub, sadly the Railway is the expected Wetherspoons reliable. Avoid the Olympic, Matty's and Dev's for chippies (v poor portions), good place for chippy-chips be "the chip shop" opposite the wellington (used to was Dominics)

• Andys Take Away Walney Island. Best Burgers in Barrow and at good prices will deliver too, EXCELLENT!

• The istanbul is a take away. Parlo Ginnais is an italian restaurant.
• Best chips in Barrow have to be from the Olympic Chippy, off Dalton Rd, and for top Cornish pasties Diggles takes some beating ... yummy scrummy up yer bummy !!!
• The Green Jade on Barrow Island - the best chinese takeaway in town. The Queens at Biggar Village is undoubtedly the best bar meal going - if you can eat it all! Jeffersons on Dalton Rd is great for dinner-time bar meals too and a bit easier to get to. And of course, chips from Andy's chip shop on Walney.

• The Brown Cow at Dalton.. An excellent value for money meal at a nice cosy Pub.. Chaz makes everyone welcome and we ate there twice while visiting from the States.. A must try place..

• I work at "Nicks" Pizzeria Italia and I think whoever said that you will get food poisoning from there is talking crap! The food is prepared daily by Italian chefs, unlike Salvannahs, where the food is cooked from frozen and you are lucky if it is defrosted when it is served!
• Salvanas for a exellant Italian meal. Nicks will give you food poisoning and costs a bomb.
