Live Music Venues
  • Sanctuary....The newest and best place to watch and listen to live and recorded music. On Abbey Road opposite the Library.
  • The canteen
  • I wish to eat my words the finest Barrow Band Mystical Experience have reformed and performed another sell out show at Forum 28 Barrow, they will be back in dec 2009.
  • the canteen
  • The cantine, The Nines
  • Barrow had many a place to see live bands, good one euthoria on a friday and some times a saturday night in the civic centre ticket only (ormsgillers), also yummy/ eddisons fu*^kin class some good nights in there, bouns was the place and the cry.
  • The Canteen, Queens pub, Healeys pub
  • The Canteen The Queens Healeys Forum 28
  • The Canteen is where EVERYONE goes nowadays. I go there, pretty much every friday. About 3-4 bands per night, they sell drinks and it's spacious.. good venue really. Theirs the Queens pub and Healeys where good bands like Torture TV play
  • The Nines, Dalkeith Street, all the bigger bands play here.
  • THE ALFRED AND THE CASLE ON WALNEY ARE GOOD FOR A VISIT
  • The Canteen Media & Arts Centre on Barrow Island is great, went to see Aim play there recently and was most impressed. All they need now is some Red Stripe in the can bar and it'll be perfect. Good lineups, crackin people and cheap beers; can't be bad.
  • The Canteen Media And Arts Centre, one ofthe most exciting venues in the North West!!
  • well, the duke in barrow can be quite cool of a thursday night. healeys has some good gigs too
  • forum 28 put gigs on from time to time but its a bit uptight, so i guess either the Duke or Healey's. bad acoustics in Healey's though. about 40 mins away is Kendal, and the Brewery Arts Centre there has decent bands play.
  • ha de ha ha, yes well we have the very famous (or infamous) Duke of Ed and other grotty cess pits that attract the like of "who ate grandma" and "knuckleknife" to name but two, and as if you thought that wasn't enough!-we give u,"Mystical Experience" commonly billed as "Cumbria's answer to Boyzone". sadly they have now parted ways though, their demise will leave a gaping hole in British pop talent, nay the effects will be catastrophic WORLDWIDE.
  • the duke on a friday an saturday, even if ur not in2 bands, its a laugh
  • Healeys is pretty kool, and the Railwaymens. the duke is ok too.
  • THE DUKE ON A THURSDAY NIGHT
  • healey's is definitely the place to be for a good night of music.
  • THE DUKE
  • ash once played in Lancaster, railway working mens club thing not of any great quality but has indie nights run by music and mystic
  • Got to be the Duke on bbey Road
  • Duke of Edinburgh when Barry and Maureen had it- viva the John Doe Band
  • Healey's, the Duke of Edinborough and the Old Railway club. Heale's plays more punk music and the Railway play mostly goth stuffe. The duke is somewhere in between. We have some good bands but not enough drummers.
  • Whitehaven Civic hall
  • the railway and healeys
  • Healeys and the Duke are best places for live music - with Bands such as Nanas Revenge, WORM, 12 Foot Machete, 86 etc etc (all have a loyal following with large connections to Barrow Sixth Form College) large groups of stoners gather outside to let the other stoners know that they are in da house.
  • all barrow bands are stuck in the frickin' days of Madchester. wise up fellows. although a big shout to the Shyteds, the only BW band that matter.
  • Forum 28, although the best place used to be Eddysons and upstairs Labour club
  • Barrow park summer gigs starting again soon, Forum 28 is rocking at the moment with great live music courtesy of unity promomotions-keep it up
  • Custom House The CEllar Bar
  • Healeys, Duke of Edinburgh, Barrow Park where they have live bands on Sundays to go and listen to when you are hungover. Forum 28 is like a theatre with performing arts and stuff like that on.
  • hhhhmmmmm is there 1.healeys on a friday offer local bands and circus on a tuesday are becomming popular with students playing music such as punk rock
  • the custom house once a month with its funky house dj is the best place to be!!
  • healyz iz da place 4 da townz punk music from mean bone 2 machanical animals good show all round
  • Healeys pub. Top place for gigs!
  • martinis is good n so is circus but a mean newhere can try
  • "The Duke of Edinburgh" Abbey Road Barrow -in -furness, THE only Blues venue in Barrow putting on some of the very best Blues Bands in the Country i.e Nimmo Bros, Blues 'n' Trouble. Look out for some great bands playing in the new year 2002.
  • Anyone remember Yummy !!! It was BANNGIN" with Gripper and Si-man ... love to all the Old SkoolPosse ... Princess Bob xx
  • Duke of Edinburgh, Abbey Road used to be the best music venue in the area by a long way. Had an interesting and eclectic mix of bands and was well supported. Recently hijacked by a bunch of talentless no hopers masquerading as the Barrow Blues Society or some such similar bollocks, who are now only allowing blues bands from Lancashire play there, so long as some geezer on Radio Lancashire tells them they're good. Wait till this fad fizzles out, unless you share this obsession with hasbeens from the Rawtenstall delta..........
  • April 27th 2001. Duke of Edinburgh, Abbey Road. Good Old Boys Blues Band. Free admission. Top band. Slip on your shades and boogie........
  • Eddysons used to be good in the distant past
  • Amphi - They have an open air festival for local bands every year.
  • Forum 28
  • Park Leisure Center, got a Rave thang going on.
  • Forum 28 is the formal main town venue, but rarely attracts any big name stars.
