You can tell us more about Barrow-in-Furness.

Pubs
  • Robin Hood is a drug den, i have "concrete evidence" and Mike Elliott the landlord takes it up the arse over the pool table
  • Yates - What a scrot hole.. Have you seen the early morning alky's sparking up their fags right outside the front door at 9am.. Get a faking job you pack of crusty freeloaders!
  • Furness Railway, Ramsden bar, Tally Ho,
  • I have not been out in barrow in a few years so would off all changed but i surpose the kings, hartington, kavanas, martinis and strawberry good pint in there. Plus the alfred and the george on walney and good pubs with plenty off entertainment for the week end.
  • Healeys and Queens. Play good music too.
  • Queens pub
  • QUeens is a good pub, they have bands sometimes. Watch Alcoholocaust and the Shindig play there!
  • MOST PUBS LACK ATMOSPHERE BUT TRY NINES,CROSS KEYS,YATES BACK END OF THE STEELES
  • The Strawberry is supposed to be OK if you can stand six formers from rating lane
  • The Queens at Biggar Village. Gorgeous village and excellent pub grub. Great to go visit the nature reserve, get a goo of Piel Island from the other side and the go to the pub for pint and some cheese and onion crisps. It's the simple pleasures in life.
  • The railway (wetherspoons), the Berry
  • The Berry is absolutely shi*e. It serves manky lager and beer for top prices! Who wants to pay 2.30 odd for a minging beer on a summers day? Not to mention it is basically six form inserted into a pub! Thus attracting little joy boys in novas and corsas. SAD PUB! Get your self down to one of these beauties: Blue Lamp Sheffield Albion C8 Ramsdens Railway
  • www.freewebs.com/sweatydogdick A prank on royce haslam Send it to you're mates Thank's enjoy
  • I personally go to the Berry. bit townieish but it has a pool table and its only round the corner.
  • pubs. pubs pubs pubs. now that is not something we are in short supply of in Barrow. its so nice to be wandering passed one in the middle of a weekday and be stumbled into by the latest wandering fool. many minors head out to the pubs before trying their luck round the oh so famous cornwallis street. this is mainly because barpeople dont give a f***. they wouldn't dream of missin out on their £1.50 from the latest e number fuelled flavoured alcoholic beverage! enjoy the comfortable scenery and if you want to- burn a hole with your cigarette into the furniture-nobody in the typical barrow pub will bat an eyelid. Enjoy-and do't trip over the pissed ones on the way out ie everyone
  • P.G'S Wine Bar, Chambers, Empire,Kings, Yates, Circus, Kavanas, Old Bank, Continental, O Sullivans, Lucys etc etc i cd go on forever baby!
  • the tavs on abbey road, its got good prices and they have karioke on a thursday and sunday
  • PUBS ARE GOOD, SOCIAL CLUBS DYING
  • Back in the 50's almost all the pubs were afilliated with James Thompson & Co, Brewers and Wine Merchants of Duke (?) St. My father was the last Manageing Director and resigned in about 1970 and emmigrated to New Zealand. I emigrated to Canada in June 1957 and have had a wonderful existance since then.
  • nautical on walney and talk to fat ken
  • The Empire, Healeys, the duke. most are ok.
  • The King Alfred
  • Fuck all worth mentioning.
  • DOMINICS ON ROLO ST
  • kings at top of dalton road.
  • Cross Keys Town center .. Ask for larry Dot or aunty Shell
  • most pubs are plastic full of plastic people!
  • White house was always a safe bet on abbey road
  • the kings on the top of dalton road has agreat atmosphere
  • old bank!....im 15 now n dey r kewl bout it...empirez..gud n all
  • the welly in dalton is great for reeeling in the schoolkids and getting them hooked for life, love them dearly - have them to thank soley for my chronic alcohol addiction and flagging liver. golden ball complete doss hole, known as 'the shiny knacker' to locals
  • The best pubs in barrow is the Albion and the empire or the stawberry these are the 'student' drinking points.. the Empire is the cheapest though
  • Pubs. No minors, but the people going there have an air of extreme youthfullness. They almost look about 14... but then then start to smoke, so obviously, they're not.
  • Healys on a saturday nights (not every saturday mind u) has a wicked mixin session with a lot of barrows up and coming (other wise known as wannabes) djs, its a good laugh come and see 4 for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Steelworks, Preston Street, Crystal Palace, the B-Arms, The Theatre. Hardcore drinking establishments one-and-all, I salute you.
  • crouded and very scratty
  • Bar Continental on a bank holiday sunday night, the most "happenin" place around, and whats the obsession with DJ Morgan!? I know him personally, hes ace but come on enough is enough! plus he has a girlfriend!
  • Empire, kings most ov em r gud uns
  • Central workingmens club (Preston Street). Cheap and cheerful, entertainment every Saturday and Sunday evening. Friendly clientele.
  • Strawberry is ok, Healey's and the Kings
  • Strawberry
  • healeys
  • Custom House
  • dont go to places that look dodgey from the outside it aint any bettre inside! just a tip!
  • Strawberry(bit pricy though) jeffersons, the railway, bar cairo, yate's
  • Good Beer: Railway. Good Juke Box: White Lion (Slater St). Other Good 'uns: Riflemans, Steelworks, Waterloo and the Dirty Duck. For the Novice: Anywhere on Cornwallis St, Strawberry.
  • yates - duke street
  • The Lounge which used to be The Wheelbarrow is a great meetin place good music and lightin and comfy leather settees' to sit on. The Empire and Yates are brilliant too.
  • yates jeffersons empire!!!
  • yates and the kings are the best pubs in barrow the srawberry sucks ass
  • Yates Duke Street. Excellent atmosphere need to go early to avoid queues cheap drinks throughout the day. Tuesday night quiz worth a visit win 8 pints. Not a bad night.
  • da awsome healyz or of corce v.c.c or da perry
  • *cough*bullsh!t*cough* Best pub i reckon in the Theatre Bar, always a laugh and never empty (Don't serve youngsters like myself either *sulk*) hehe
  • The theatre bar in Cavandish street.
  • At the tender age of 28 I now feel well past it on Cornwallis on a Friday or Saturday night as all the pubs seem to have fresh-faced young things in them. However, if you concentrate on the pubs before Cornwallis such as Bar Cairo, Jeffersons, The Kings and The Sheffield you don't feel too old. Chandlers on Barrow Island is also a good place to warm-up before venturing down the gaza strip (Cornwallis St). O'Sullivans, The Cry and Rick O'Shea's are okay to finish off in but if you're feeling young and trendy you could venture to Martini's or Circus Circus. If you want something slightly different you could visit the 99. Slightly older clientele. By the way, The Place has in fact long gone and is an un-used town square.
  • The 'Berry (Hollow Lane/Abbey rd), otherwise known as The Strawberry, used to be good but is a bit young now. But the Vic (Oxford St) is OK
  • get down the brose and tell jacko to start up the bands
  • Barrow needed Wetherspoons to find out what beer tastes like. However, fond memories of Dominics and the Prince of Wales, Ramsden Street.
  • New Yates wine lodge opened in March this year.
  • Vickerstown institute, Walney
  • Best thing - the pub on Peel Island
  • The best pub is the Strawberry but Geoff Coid at the Concle Inn serves the best pint of Tetley Bitter - He will make you all a warm welcome!! Come and see for yourself.
  • Strawberry best pub? The standard of beer served in Barrow is generally atrocious and the 'Berry is no exception. The clientele vary from Gareth Cheeseman-like golf club types to indie bollocks sixth-form types to obese rugby "players". i.e. a non-scintillating bunch... and the decor? - Chuck out the chintz! (And the juke-box.)
  • The Strawberry is still the most popular of all the pubs where you will find most of the sixth formers hang out of a weekend or between lectures. The pub called The Queens on Rawlingson Street is also a very popular pub where large crowds gather to listen to the local bands which play most days of the week.
  • The greatest pub is The Crown in North Scale if you want a quiet pint but for bands it is either The Queens on Rawlinson Street or The Duke Of Edinburgh also on Rawlinson Street.
  • There is the new Furness Railway pub where the old Co-Op used to be on Abbey Road. It is a branch of Wetherspoons and is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended.
