- KOOKIES NO LONGER IN OPERATION NOW BACK TO BEING CALLED THE BLUEBELL,
- the carnival serve a mean pint of worthies or coach and horses an excellent pint of tetleys
- The Blue Bell (Formerly Kookies) for mainly younger people and some slightly older, good atmosphere the end stop of many weekend nights - The Volunteer Arms, mixture of older people in the lounge bar, younger in the public, quiet and no que for the pool table, loud juke box and drink prices still in the 90's - The "Old" Mill built around 10 years ago some of the original fittings are begining to show their age, but a nice cosy pub, with no smoking areas, group pub menu - The Weatsheaf, older clientel regular group pub menu, cosy and small - The George Hotel, A midway stop, a very "young" crowd on weekends, the place needs some attention, and a cleaner, apparently serves food? - The Carnival, taken over 3 years ago is a much better place, the same people are now buying the Coach and Horses, currently being refurbished, high hopes for this one - The Victory club, long line for membership, serves the cheapest pint in england - The Queens Club, no longer a club more pub going now with function room, smart inside a very local pub - The Red Lion, with midnight licence attracts alot of people but only 150 allowed in at any time. Working further down the town to Charlies, very busy when it was opened but now quieter with a clicky atmosphere, modern interior though very much like a city bar. The White Swan has a set group of customers, not many others go in and down waterside road on the way to the Humber, The Sloop Inn recently taken over and fully refurbished serving home made food, has seperate no smoking room, plans to serve their own lager.
- i prefer the sloop down waterside road, the rest are full of gobby 14 year olds that need a good slap!
- The upstairs room in an outhouse of the Coach and Horses where the then landlord would let the youngsters have lemonade
- most pubs are full of 12-14 year olds trying to be grown up by flirting with 25 year olds, also watch out for the boy racers. the mill is probably the best.
- THE CORN EXCHANGE in the market place a great place lots of entertainment on saturday nights plus great snooker room with four first class tables, hey and sunday night is quiz nite what a scream that is and by the way the bar maids are rather nice too fancy a change come to the exchange a great function room upstairs its the place to party.
- The old Mill-market Place-full of life,thriving.
Wheat Sheaf Holydyke-cosy-good food.
Charlies on Fleetgate-lively atmosphere.
- the corn excange in market place well worth a vist.
- Charlies is the newest addition to Barton, although it is a little off the main pub trail. It's interior reflects many city centre pubs and the drinks are cheap too!!
- Kookies - for the very "young" and the middle aged.
Volenteer Arms - A bit boring, ok for a quiet drink.
The Old Mill - excellent pub for all ages, very smart.
The Wheatsheaf - for older people but does excellent bar meals.
The George Hotel - handy stop off between "up town" and "down town".
The Red Lion - happy hour every Friday/Saturday (one pound any drink 10-11pm).
The Coach and Horses - just under new management, refurbishment planned.
The White Swan - just out of the main pub area.
The Sloop - near to the Humber Bank, handy for locals.
The Carnival - a bit out of the way, more for locals and functions.
Most pubs have a quiz night and or darts/dominoes/pool/football teams etc.
- over 12 pubs including Cookies, The Wheat Sheaf, White Swan, Volounteers, The Carnival, Coach & Horses
- For Cheap accomodation and reasonable food with a pint of Caffreys, try the Gearge Hotel
