Buskers, Street Entertainers
- Matthew Lawrenson from buckskin, the geeky twat who always perves on the young girls and looks like something from a krypt
- that guy wo walks around twn clappin i see him alot with his trackys on and his gloves
- dunno but did you knmow that basingstoke now has 822 cctv in operation more then new york no joke
- carlton the most famous tramp in england, he's dead now but some say if you go up the stairs to the ncp carpark from outside owen and owen you can still smell his piss (spooky!)
- Local characters??!! Does this include the single mothers who seem to walk around town all day every day scrounging off the government claiming their benfits and swearing.
- havent got a clue. I saw a tramp in reading once
- trumpet man is great find him on the hill up to macdonalds he will play any tune also crazy drunk man always sat in the alley between mcds and barclays go and give him a bit of jip and listen to him go off on one. crazy drunk 2 always walking round the town talking to anyone that will listen stay away i spent half an hour listening to him. hes classic though once stole a skaters skateboard and then fell off it trying to go down a hill.
- Darren best busker in the south, fantastic voice.
- Look out for Buskerboy Ant Cooke outside Mcdonalds or being chased away from QMC by the principle. will mutilate himself for money or your plesure.
- Me man Busker Boy can be found outside McDonalds but he regulary plays at the QMC reception
- few and far between i am very happy to say, OK you do get the odd weirdo on the slope next to julie crews and the library but i havent seen one there for ages so the streets are safe for now at least.
- There is a tramp who thinks he is Elvis, and and consequently, thinks deserves your hard earned cash.
- The alley by McDonalds there was one that shoute "Elvis, the King!"
- That guy from It Ain't Half Hot Mum keeps busking here. He's quite good actually! Buskers are actually taboo in Basingstoke. Security seems to clamp down on it (these are actually the Culture Secret Police). Have you read the book 1984? Well, you might know what I mean. I just wish they would ease up and chill out a bit. Buskers are entertainment, and people don;t have to pay them if they don;t want to (mind you, would 10p hurt?)
- Market researchers should be banned. Basingstoke has the most and get on your nerves.
- Dedicated to everybody who sits outside McDonalds!!!
- Full of Marketing surveys and Big Issue sellers
- Check out "Darren' a young & v. talented accoustic guitar player and singer...moves around the town center and is actually placed by the council to busk...I hope he's still there...he's the only good one..except Tanita Tikarams Brother'..(Remember Her???????)
- A lot of very entertaining people who hang around town chanting "have you got any change mate"
- Every couple of weeks "official" street enternainers perform, ie Punch & Judy or classical music. There are also a lot of "unofficial" buskers, mainly at the underpass by the train station, as the underpass is being demolisted, who knows where they're move to.
