Skateboarding Spots
- btw some lil idiots decided to burn/break the ramp next to the basketball courts in winklebury so the councel decided to demolish it :( the leasure park is a good spot for grinds and stuff especally the kfc & mc donalds car park. the area infront & behind the train station is gr8 lots of stairs, curbs and stuff and the place out side the church(next to m&s,shakeaway) is good too! WATCH OUT FOR THE FESTIES WHEN IN TOWN! (the guys in the stupid purple shirts & ties!)
- war memorial and winklebury
- Anvil stairs have been barred. £500 spot fine for skating........
New marble fountain park by festival palce somewhat skateable........new bulding development full of lovely stairs and benches.......skateproofed though so bring wood.
Winklebury school, tiny hand rail down a 3 and 5 set (all together) but you can't do it without getting some wood for the 3 set.....then it's a perfect small 5 set hand rail...........
That's all the new stuff we've found and can think of............Oh and on the reading side of basingstkoke if you head back into town you will come to a school (c of E school) qwith a steep square rail downa 6 set that's doable.......nice run up and landing........OAKLEY SKATEPARK- NEVER go there! Mini so steep it should be a vert, stupid box leading to flat bank. Pointless driveway (1ft high) with a 2 ft rail on it (which I must say I managed to 50-50.........but I'm good) leading to an equally pointless hipped flatbank that is 3ft long.........
Sucks.
Made form RHINO fibreglass crap........
- basingstokes full of em, u jus' need 2 look.
- Best place to skate in basingstoke! is by the new bus station in the underground bit where the car park is! very nice slidy curbs some nice surface some gnarly in places ! often quite full with cars but wen its not its gr8 ! also on church street at the bottom of town by the church near the anvil there is a set of 2 ! quite nice waxed up good ! watch out for them purple jacket dudes though ! alos outside the big blue building think its the barcleys bank building you cant miss it! its the tall building that sticks out above the town!
- chineham park paddling pool~~when thats drained that shit is narly dude
- good skate spots in b'stoke hmmmmm thats hard . i can name quite a few bad ones well you know what its like when the council try to get involved. there is a pretty good half pipe whih has now been extended with a spine which was built by the guys at off beat sports. but beware of local rude boys who tend to want the burn the thing down every other week. (winklebury)
- Everywhere!
Basingstoke is great for skating. The train station with 2 8 sets that havnt been nobbed, the industrial estate off of the roundabout after the tunnel by the bus station has loads of stuff, including a massive sttep 17 stair ledge where the old police sation was. Wax it up for a few hours then grind away (it's big though! I Once rolled down it and dropped off the end and spend a month in a cast where I smashed my arm opn on the floor- it wasnt pretty)...
Loads of stuff there, and on the roundabout after the tunnel on the left is a place they've just made with fountains and the like, and marble gorgeous ledges. They've designred it so its not skater friebdly (bet someone specifically got paid for that...bastards) but you can still do some of the ledges and they're sweet. Festival place is funny to skate through but they don't like it cos iuts a huge mall. Winklebury school has a low double kinked rail down a double set, take some wood though, there's a spine mini there as well behind the bowling place, full of dutty pikies in puffa jackets (and thats the girls...) and the bowling place itself is ramn good as well, four good sized gaps in a row....
There's a place over theother side of town that I can't rememebr where it is that has a low rail down a five set, its at sme church...ALso there's a good mini out in old basing if you can find it...
To be honest Basingstoke has loads of architecture and loads of things to skate so just go and check it out...go on a sunday though as you're more likely to get a good skate. The hospital is good as well.
- mini ramp 5ft nr basing house. its so rad its unbeliveable
- in Tadley only bmxers are welcome and there are no gypsis as they are too scared to come out of their camp site but yeah the park is shit but it has some good transfers and there are some good street spots eg the Hurst school, Burnham corpse school and Tadley school
- the train station
- civic offices just by war mamorial park has some sweet ledges, qmc collage a great spot benches, stairs and gaps.
- Basingrad is now evoluving as a skating heaven according to the many skaters i know of...
The war memorial now has a skate park with attitude,
- There are 5 steps on the top of town - super smooth run up and landing, basically the perfect stair set. Near the Games Worksop store there is a set of stairs running up the side of the wall, go up these and they are to your left. NOTE - beware of the greenies who will chuck you off if they find you (Town council security). NOTE - On way to Sk8 park be prepared for muddy shoes!
- Winklebury has a skate park.
- New skateboard/cycle ramp on Tadley Common. Always being used, shame the rubbish bins provided aren't...
- New SkatePark in War Memorial Park - Past Tennis courts at one end of the Park
Near Harriet Costello school - see ya there!
- DUH.....the half pipe up at Winkelburry.
- Memorial park, Anvil (once "the rock") and most carparks and school playgrounds, but look out for security guards in green with attitude problems in the town centre.
