  • Firebird Russian Arts - check out the superb enamelled items
  • Has anybody noticed that new shop - GARDENALIA - whilst stuck in a traffic jam along the London Road?? There used to be that horrible, run-down, empty eye-sore there next to the launderettes. But at last, it seems someone with a bit of nous is doing something about it. I tell you, it's a lot easier on the eye now! I stopped off to get my Christmas tree there and saw that they also do the most beautiful garden antiques as well as gardening tools and supplies, crafts and gifts. A bit of a posh salvage yard but without the extortionate prices. What a lovely atmosphere it has and a nice, accommodating young man to help - certainly not your typical dealer type! A MUST for garden lovers! I will certainly go back.
  • Check out a new shop at Mile End, London Road - "Gardenalia". Sells everything from garden antiques like staddle stones to handmade paper, Haws watering cans and great gift ideas. Prices are really competitive. Awesome! The chap in there is really helpful and friendly too. If you like something a bit different from the big name garden/DIY stores, he's worth going to.
  • WINDOWS OF COURSE ,AND THE BRASSIERE ALSO THE ART GALLERIES OFF OF ABBEY SQUARE, THE ART GALLERY NEXT TO THE PIZZA HOUSE NEAR THE RIVER AND ANY SHOP WINDOW ON PULTNEY STREET
  • Try around the ROman baths area
  • Lets face it, Bath is heaven for gift shops and craft shops, Go to the bottom of Milsom street, but instead of heading straight down, go east about 20 yards and down the small parallel side streets.
  • You don't have to go 2 yards before you find any number of these so why pick one out Oh alright then The Faerie Shop round the corner from the Link Phone shop
  • Hitchcocks, great stuff from jewellery to ceramics to clothes.
  • Check out B - A r T H o u s e - 10, St Georges Place, Upper Bristol Road, Bath, BA1 3AA They aim to provide a unique and distinct style representing the colours of art and the skills of crafts from around the world. B - A r T H o u s e 01225 427600
  • Bath has a rash of 'ethnic artifact' and 'new age' shops. You can't move for crystals, weird rugs and carvings, panpipes and balsa wood parrots. There are stuffy museum/galleries, the Victoria gallery, costume museum, yawn! The International Music Festival and associated fringe are good, as is the Royal Photographic Society. Antique shops everywhere too.
  • Window Arts Centre in Lower Borough Walls has a cafe/gallery and holds fantastic drumming workshops - check it out!
  • There's an interesting Museum of Photography at the Octagon, Milsom Street, Headquarters of the Royal Photographic Society. The Society owns many original prints right from the earliest days, and you can also see some of the earliest (as well as some of the latest) equipment on display. Well worth visiting. Adjoining it is a very reasonably priced cafe.
  • Antique Fair's at the Pavilion - great for nicking stuff
  • You've very kindly listed my shop and gallery as a good thing - however sadly I no longer sell all the things it says - we now sell Automata, Mechanical Toys and Folk Toys and we have a website at www.hitchcocks-bath.co.uk
  • Helios Gallery Antiquities genuine ancient artefacts What else could you bring back from Bath ? 01225 336 097 e-mail: heliosgallery@btinternet.com
