The Knowhere Guide

The Worst Things in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire*

The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

You can tell us more about Beaconsfield.

The Worst Things
  • The design of Sainsbury's car park... too many new flats... too much traffic... Davenies mums who own 4x4's but don't know how to drive them properly and foul up Station Road every day. Haven't they heard? Walking's good for your kids... and you!
  • Really need to stop the snobbery - I moved into Beaconsfield in the early 70s and it was great. Really friendly and down to earth. Now it is full of big cars with one child in it that stops where it likes and refuses to adopt the pleasantries of road conduct ie. the buggers never let you out! The women walk around with their noses in the air and the men look down trodden! However, this does not seem to have affected the pub life and pubs are obviously below them - thank god.
  • Morning traffic - and those women who insist on driving their kids right up to the school entrance in their 4 x 4, regardless of yellow lines, zig zag lines and the dangers to the children.
  • there's no entertainment for teenagers or anywhere we can go
  • Jim Kelly, and his various offspring.
  • far too many kevs
  • The traffic on the A40, what a nightmare. Particularly at the rush-hour times as all the posh commuter snobs are coming home or going to work and the beeping must be heard for miles. Living next door to Wycombe is another down point, as it is a complete dump populated with criminals and illegal immigrants. Slough is also dangerously close.
  • guys who beat us up who are younger than us
  • because its in a rich area, all the shops and prices are for rich people
  • House prices!!! My car was nicked. But its crap! Why not nick one of the porsches down the road?
  • its sooooo boring. anyone between the age of 11 and 30 will surely go insane living here. as i have.
  • Nothing fot the young
  • Most snobbiest place I have ever been. The people turn their noses up at you and there are hardly any coloured people about.
  • Towns don't get much deader
  • No cheap places to eat out
  • Houses / flats are very expensive
  • No clubs or decent music venues
  • NOTHING TO DO!
  • Lots of posh shops
