- Often the Antique shop has interesting paintings in and can achieve a reasonable deal sometimes. Frequently chops a hundred or two off the price, for you to secure a sale.
- For a genuine gift of dubious Chinese/Korean quality, the Parish Lantern is an absolute must! Guaranteed to seriously damage your wallet or purse too...
- Avoid Parish Lantern at all costs, unless you are particularly fond of Malaysian trinkets that self-destruct within minutes of purchase, or due to the outrageous desire of the Guvnor to bankrupt your finances on objects that would be best suited to the internal capacity of a Biffa refuse bin.
- Parish Lantern sell a fine range of extortionately priced nik-naks. Think of the Taiwanese who are paid a Dollar a day to supply such quality goods...
- Beccles does have one very nice little bookshop, and one very crap one. Occasional Art exhibitions in the Public Hall. Not much in the way of culture here!
