Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
- Risk fashion is the best ladies clothing shop in bedford located in the high st. I Went to all the the clothing shops in bedford looking for something different but cluby as it was my 21st. Did all the high street names in town but i did not want what everyone already had. saw Risk for the first time and i could not believe my eyes. Finally i found a clothing shop where i had to much choice and the great thing was that the had picture of celebrities wearing the exact dress for sale without the price tag. Due to the size of the shop im guessing that their collection was quite exclusve as the did not have too much of the same dress.
I have since been a loyal customer and so have my friends theres only a one stop shop for us now when we are about to go on an evening out.
- Go to the posher arcade where Pizza Hut is located for some of the more hard to find items or on the High Street there's a head shop that also sells South American knitted items which are cool!
- tk max but you need to holiday there to have time to find something that you like in the size you need..
- I think Planet Clothing has now moved into the Arcade, near Masons. Both sell brand name clothes.
Claytons is in the Arcade too this is for suit buyers. And now I think its sells womens too. There is a good shoe shop next to it for more expensive shoes.
Howarth Shoes on Mill Street is good too. Sells Radley hand bags.
All Ears, the hippy shop from when I was younger has closed down now.
Now for the usuals
New Look is big, much needed. Not sure when going to start selling Mens in Bedford. Primark is soon to open after Littlewoods shut down. There is BHS, M&S, Debenhams and Beales, as the larger stores. Next is fairly small in the town and Rover Island is ok. Needs a good tidy, too many racks. Top shop is below Dorothy Perkins and both definitely need a good clean up!
Beales sells younger people's clothes now (Bay Trading, FCUK, Morgan)as well as the Country Casuals, Jaegar and other names. Also sells Kylie Minogue underwear. And obviosuly other brands. Getting a bit more update!
Debenhams has got Oasis attached to it, as well as the usuals in the store.
- Planet Clothing. They stock Vice. God bless them. Expensive though!
- planet. bench, converse, roxy that sort of thing great shop with charactor not just a normal shop.
- planet and masons in the arcade are the best ones in bedford but quite pricey
pipe dreams in clair court for skate stuff
claytons bridal shop in the arcade dont just do wedding gear anymore but also ball gowns and cocktail dresses on the top floor.
geezers and treacles in clair court was the best ever. but its now closed down :(

- Pipe Dreams, where the old planet shop used to be before it moved and went all townie. Cool trainers and clothes, vans, diffs, dc's, i-path, etnies, lakai loads more too! a REAL skate shop in bedford again!
- planet. TK max actually sells a remarkable amount of skate clothes. e.g shortys, globe, the firm, mecca, quik, billabong. for sum odd reason.
- topshop if ya wont the run of the mill stuff, something a bit different? all ears is a pretty wacky shop
- ALL EARS, has a wicked collection of hippy clothes!!! and many other typical nicknacks and accesories you would expect of an alternative shop but at amazing prices
- Planet Clothing has 2 shops now in the arcade. one for men and one for women. they have a great selection of clothes from alternative kinda designers. the onbly downside is that its not as cheep as everywhere else.
Planet 2 in claire's court has a good selection of t shirts and jeans for everyone as well as random little things. its all quite reasonably priced. yay
- It has to be Planet Clothing for clothes!! last time I went in Planet 2 they didnt have a lot in there. Some of the charities are OK but you do have to scavenge. Otherwise Bedford is pretty bad for clothes shopping, save up and get a day ticket to camden.
- Next is cool, get groovy clothing for men women and babies from there. I do most of my shopping from there. Good for young people mainly.
- We got funki junction n dat 24 Level shop, sells da basics, Fubu, FCUK, Criminal Damage.
- TELL ME ABOUT SELWINS
- Planet clothing is by far the funkiest shop for miles around, and the guys and gals in there have good gig connections, so if you are new and want to get around, thats a good place to start.
- the officers club dont go here its anothere cheap rip off
- Planet one in the arcade is cool. it sells loads of skate labels and has really friendly staff. Planet 2 is cool for acsessories and hoodies.
- All the english people doon here dress like posers,
so obviously no cool shops around.
- well, if u like new look and top shop then ur well away, but if ur into something
a bit different, try Planet Clothing 2 in clair court. very expensive but cool.

- C A Williams in Tavistock Street for discount Levi's, Lees, DMs etc.
- GB's is brilliant for casual and smart designer wear, Funky Junction, Moss Bros, Spice and also Topman, all located within the town center and all sell good clothes.
- Planet Clothing has to be the coolest and Scat! But i must admit i am a Topshop girl myself.
- planet-moved
summit-closed
- Scat(on the High st) is cool for the clubber and retro chick in you. Also the charity shops like Salvation Army(opposite Scat)is cool.Summit 64 is v.cool for your snow/skateboarding needs on Harpur st. The shop to beat the others is Planrt Clothing at it's new home in the 'Arcade',next to Andy's Records. It's even better than before with sk8boards and loads of other delectable sk8 and retro clobber.
- PLANET CLOTHING IS THE BEST SHOP IN BEDFORD!! (advertisement courtesy of R.Poulton - future brother in law of owner)
Well we've got all the Burtons type, ya know river Island and Top Man, but we've also got Funky Junction which is for the casual look. Hipper than that though is Scat on the High Street which is pretty clubby and cool, but the ultimate in Bedford is Planet Clothing in Claire court off Lime street, skate clothing galore, it's a bit pricey but if you want it they've got it. Shop of the future. Soon to open. XS Menswear, Mill Yard, Mill Street for Armani, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Stone Island etc., etc., etc. - Top man is great. I buy all my jumpers from there. So does Chris Evans.
