I am reseaching my family history, does anyone recall Mayor Bros Wholesale Newagents of Green st. or Globe Rd. in the 1920's to the 1950's
  • Re: Mayor bros, Wholesale Newsagents by paul ruskin (Member 10295019) on 15-Aug-2014
Mayor Bros was at 33 Green Street (now Roman Road) and recently been a betting shop, it is currently being refurbished and the Original Mayor Bros sign can be seen. I have a photo, albeit slightly obscured by timber framework. I would be happy to forward it.

Hi, Sorry I have not contacted you sooner, Yes I would like a copy of the photo, and any other info regarding "Mayor Bros", as I have now come up against a brick wall, as all my "Grand" relatives have passed away.

    Thank You

Hello, my brother in law is Paul Mayor who was one of the last working family members of Mayor Bros before it closed. He doesn't have email but you can make contact via my sister - elizabethmayor@hotmail.co.uk. I am just about to start researching his family tree via ancestry.co.uk, but haven't posted anything yet. Good luck with your research.
