| Looking for ALYSON OSBORNE
|
by Sue Hensby (Member 10238900) on 14-Jul-2009

Hi, I am trying to locate Alyson Osborne. Her parents used to have a B&B in Bexhill, think it was called Annandale, back in 60's/70's. Think she too went to Charters, she had a sister, Meryll, who moved to Spain, and a brother, Simon, who lived in London. Last I heard she had moved to New Zealand. Does anyone have any info??

| 60s beat/mod/R&B band members from Bexhill wanted
|
by Paul (Member 10233578) on 24-Nov-2008
|
HI,
I’m based in Sussex I also collect records and am completely obsessed with the 60s.
I am working on a project of putting together a compilation LP entitled “60s Savages from Sussex and The South Coast”.
I’m looking for members of 60s Beat/mod/R&B/Soul and even Psychedelic bands from Sussex and the South Coast area’s during the years 1961 -1967.
I’m interested mostly in hearing your stories, seeing pictures and hopefully you may have old acetate demos, (or if you were one of the lucky groups who actually managed to record a 45)... It would be so fantastic if you would contact me and maybe contribute a song or two to my compilation LP project.
What got me into wanting to make this LP was when I managed to purchase a copy of Horsham’s The Beat Merchants debut 45 ‘Pretty Face’ on Columbia. It made me think that surely there were other bands from the area that never got as lucky as The Beat Merchants.
If you were in a band from the 60s and were based in East or West Sussex please feel free to contact me and reminisce to me about your times in the 60’s.
Because if I have enough material I may even try and write a column for 60’s beat magazine Shindig about the Sussex & South Coast BEAT SCENES.
CONTACT ME at SONIC3691@AOL.COM
Cheers Paul

Hi,I am Kaaren Peterson - Looking to contact old friends from Ancaster House in Bexhill in the mid to late 70's. I finished A levels in 1980. Miss Grattidge was the headmistress then. I live in Australia now but have only managed to keep in touch with Julie Brown in London when we last contacted each other about 3 yrs ago and Christine Parlour who is doing brilliantly in the US as an economics professor. Seems so odd that we all just disappeared out of each others lives. ... more >>

Cannot seem to get back to it so maybe if this is posted on the site someone can help?

Whos moaning? Moscowman, if you think people are moaning all the time, then I suggest that you have a personality disorder. Go to your doctors, they can put you onto someone more specialised in your type of problem who can probably help.

| PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Bexhill on Sea area
|
by uk511 (Member 10159394) on 23-Jul-2005
|
Welcome to the info page for the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Bexhill on Sea area
it operates on the following Channel: 7 CTCSS: 19
Operating Hours: 24 hrs
There are PMR446 Internet Gateways up and down the UK and now across the world that anybody with a PMR446 radio can have access to. As an example of how this works, someone within range of my gateway link can talk through that link, over the internet, and out through another gateway in, say, Belgium or Australia. Someone within range of that second gateway can then communicate back and thus establish a conversation. Accessing the gateway using your PMR446 Radio All the gateways operate a CTCSS access system which requires a CTCSS capable radio with CTCSS set to 127.3Hz (CTCSS tone 19 on most radios).
To access the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the PMR 446 Mhz Internet Gateway in the Bexhill on Sea area set your radio to Channel 7, CTCSS code 19
The gateway is very easy to use. You use it as you would with a normal one to one communication, no callsigns are required, just call CQ or just a straightforward 'Hello, this is X calling from Y, anyone copy?' and you might be surprised who comes back to you as there are gateways all over the world. Note that there can often be a delay from the station that you are speaking to and don't forget to wait for the pips after their over before you transmit. It is also best to press the PTT button on your radio and wait a second before speaking to make sure the beginning of your over doesn't get cut off. If you don't have CTCSS on your radio you won't be able to transmit to the gateway but you will still be able to listen in on Channel 4.
When the system is idle the gateway will play this voice message every 10 minutes identifying the gateway. This message was generated using The Festival Speech Synthesis System on Linux.
During the week the network is fairly quiet during the daytime with most activity taking place during the evening and at the weekend but if it is quiet call CQ, a lot of people are monitoring even if they're not talking...
There are just a few Do's and Don'ts that will help keep the network sane: Don't swear, don't use call or ring tones, do switch off 'roger beeps' if possible.
RADIOS CAN BE BOUGHT AT ARGOS AND MANY STORES PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE RADIOS YOU GET HAVE THE 38 SUB TONES OR CTCSS TONES
thank you from the gateway keeper and we hope you will use and enjoy this free service who knows you could maybe link up with lost freinds and chat with them from all over the world
FOR MORE INFO ON RADIO GATEWAYS AND TO DOWNLOAD A PC CLIENT VISIT www.446user.co.uk and download the pc client then you can chat with people on handsets from around the uk and the world for free no call charges or top ups just good old free software and free airtime ... more >>
